movie toys is good but the prime toys what it looks looks alot better so yeah it looks like the prime toys well do good!

All I know is that it's going to be refreshing to see nice blue packages of Prime toys on the shelves instead of DOTM.

And yay for the return of no line-wide gimmicks other than transforming and articulation.

As far as numbers go, no. I don't think Prime can touch how well any of the movie lines have sold. Prime to me, is filling in Animated's place. It's there because it's the cartoon's line. It'll sell, it'll have it's following, it'll catch kids' eyes. But thinking it'll touch the movie lines' numbers is reaching, to say the least.

 

Based on the sheer number of discussion threads about TFP toys, I think they'll do pretty well..one or two people will be looking for them...including me.

It obviously won't have the market penetration of the movie line, but given that it'll be riding on the coattails of the movie and the fact that it seems to have Hasbros' full support, it'll probably do quite well. If I had to guess, I'd say it'll be the second best performing cartoon toyline after G1.

 

I will say chances are that line wise Prime might have better sales than DOTM but as for the movie line they are like a one shot deal where sales are there one day and gone the next.But with Prime as new figures come out as the show progresses so do the figs,hence better overall sales instead of a mass surge for the movies.

Well said. Whether or not Prime toys will do well or not isn't the question. Compared to movie toys? That answer is pretty clear. Transformers: Prime would REALLY have to take off in a big way for this to happen. Feasible, but not likely, or at least in the scope of the Bay movies.

 

Prime toys will do better with me than movie toys because I'll actually buy some.  

 

Will they do fine? Yes.
Will they do better than the movie line? Really doubt it

 

This. They'll do good as TFA, but they won't beat the movie line.

 

I don't think it's worth a new thread, so I'll post here: Does TFP Voyager Prime's chest cheat? Or are those his actual truck windows on his chest?

 

Sorry to say but yes their cheated windows they're much bigger than his trucks windows. If that's what takes to get a more show accurate figure I'm all for it.

 

I'd say it'd help the line a lot if they syndicate Season 1 out to CW or Cartoon Network or Nicktoons or someplace next year when the lines in stores where kids can actually see it...

Insert DVDs of the first 5 parter in with the first wave'd help too.
