Well, it IS a pain to line all the pegs up -- but once they're all in place, the nose isn't crooked.

my SW showed up today... I'm not sure if I wanna put it in bot mode or not, cause the jetmode is alllll lined up beautifully! :lol  there's that, and I already have the soundblaster version standing proudly with both lazerbeak and buzzsaw on his self.

Just picked up a Soundwave today (TRU had four of them...don't know why they stocked up, but I'm glad they did) and I must say it is one really cool toy. I was also impressed that the paint was decent, considering the general slopiness of most Cybertron paint. I think this may be my favorite figure of the line, and if not it's definitely in the top five. I just wish his neck was a little shorter...it allows for a great range of motion but he looks a little odd to me. Oh well, such a minor complaint on such an overall excellent figure.

I cant say if this is my favorite cybertron mold or not, but the ieces come together in this mold very well. The tribute to the most loved / least produced decepticon are wonderful, from the sinister head, to the gold door on his chest. the lazerbeak is a joy to fiddle with, and i love the shoulder mounted weapon. the low point however is the posability. The arm kibble gets in the way more than id like, and the motion of the knees limits how many poses this guy can get into. However, the shiled on his arm, plus the sheer amount of gun barrels he posseses means that almost any pose can look menacing. The gun pods are a pain to mount on the fighter mode as well, but that is a lesser concern.

Overall, this guy is top ten for me easy, maybe top 5

<--- Nope, not dead, just haven't been 'round for a while.

Picked up Cybertron Soundwave today based pretty much on the name alone. After getting it out of the box - which wasn't easy - I'm thinking this is going to be the first TF I'm going to return.

Why? I can't get the thing back into jet mode. I simply can't get the legs back to where they are supposed to be.

And while I love the Soundwave character, I'm not sure if I like this robot mode. Too tall and thin. I mean, it has nice points, I did manage to get the head in the right position, and I absolutely love Laserbeak, ... but... if I can't get it back into jet, it's going back to the store.

So, if anyone can help, please, HELP!

Has anybody figured out what that big hole is for underneath his jet mode (on his back in robot mode)? It doesn't seem to be for his weapons, as the posts for them are a tad bit too narrow and they just fall out...

In jet mode, you have (starting from the back):

    - Soundwave's chest.
    - Soundwave's head.
    - A 3-sided indent that holds the shoulder of one of the arms.
    - A giant hole that allows the underside of said arm to stick through -- with its attached wheel/landing gear.

There wouldn't be a hole IF they'd covered up all of the arm -- but then the bottom of the jet would be a lot flatter.

Yeah, it's pretty tough to figure out the first few times.

First, make sure the ARMS are transformed correctly. The right arm with the nose cone and wheel (NOT the shield) fits lengthwise into the bottom of the jet. The non-colored side of the shoulder should face upwards, with the gray bits folded against the side. The fist should be visible from above, with the nose cose snapping into place.

Now look at the shield arm. Notice the hole on its underside. Notice the matching peg on the other arm. Basically, the gray folding bit stacks on top of the shoulder of the nose cone arm, with the shoulder of the shield arm on top. Then you bend the shield arm inward at the shoulder and outward at the elbow to make the peg line up, and snap it into place.

Presuming you haven't decided to throw in the towel and return the bastard, you're NOW ready to do the legs.

Bend the knees one click. Bend the legs outwards at the hip one or two clicks. Rotate the knees outwards. Disengage the pelvis lock, and swing the whole mess on top of the jet.

Get the legs under the shield. Fit the feet into the front slots, and slide/push the legs forward until they lock into place. If you did it right, the plastic bits on the legs right above the feet should slide right up against the nose cone.

Peg the front of the shield into place. Fiddle with the pegs on the legs until you get them under the back of the shield. Fold any loose bits (side flaps, pelvis lock) into place.

    Raise the tail fins.

    Grab a beer to celebrate.

I don't think you understand, I mean the post hole on the three-sided indent thing that the one arm rests in. There is a hole on it that nothing seems to plug in to.

The posts on the guns ALMOST fit into it, but they are a tad bit too small and slip out.

His lack of wrist rotation REALLY bothers me. It look like it would be easy enough to fix by cutting his hands off and pinning them back on using a couple nails with heads for swivels, but cutting them off would be hard to do without loosing a lot of plastic.

What to do, what to do.

Be grateful for crappy non-wrist articulation that would have involved a SLIGHT design change to implement? I don't think so, mister.

I know how to do it, I'm just not sure the work and risk would be worth the final result.

I got yesterday from HTS, and I love this figure. I don't need a Alt. Soundwave now. He's now my permanent Soundwave. 8/10

I have the GF version of Soundwave and I like it a lot. The transformation is pretty unique, the chrome is shiny, he's armed to the teeth and it still looks like G1 Soundwave. And Laserbeak is an awesome Minicon too.
