Could it be that someone keeps like ordering 1,000,000 of them, just to see how MANY there are to be had, and it empties the entire stock until they cancel it? Not quite sure how amazon's shopping cart works, but would that do it?

 

I don't see how it could affect the Tak version that is more limited and, well, made by Takara

Oh yes, Armada is definitely the bottom of the barrel. To me, 2010 is better becauuse the main colors on Unicron (from the movie, anyway) were orange, light gray and dark gray. On the Amazon version, they're using different shades of blue and that just doesn't fit. But as you say, eye of the beholder and all that.

 

Ordered one just a few minutes ago. Never had this mold before, interested to see him on my shelf!

 

The only unicron I have is the armada which is missing pieces from my childhood so I went ahead and bought this guy since its cheaper than ebay asking prices for an armada. Also cheaper than getting the takara version.

I'm so tempted to get this guy, but I already have the TRU Universe release, and another Unicron taking up lots of real estate on my shelf just seems like something I can ultimately pass up on.

 

Pretty sure all this stuff is made in China but jointly owned factories. Just that Takara has a higher budget for paint apps and markets exclusively in Japan (plus some regions) while Hasbro NA and European (plus other) regions.

Really the big difference aside from paint, is the box and what's packed as an accessory into that box.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the reason why it's going up and down up and down is because someone on their web team is actively watching this and trying to make sure that the orders are processed by the server without overloading. Kind of like being in line, you get 200 at a time to come in and purchase, give it a few hours in between and then resume once the log has cleared. From my professional net admin perspective, that's what I'd do to prevent Apache from crashing the servers, throttle it.
