The real problem w/ TFP isn't even TFP's fault: its timing.

Between TF07 and ROTF TFs had its pendulum swing all the way from one extreme to the other and back in terms of style and approach with Animated. Now Prime has the unfortunate task of trying to span the Grand Canyon sized chasm between TFA and Michael Bay, a divide that has pretty much most of the fandom starkly coming down on one side or the other. It all just depends on which side you stand.

Coming from the movie side, Prime retains what was praised by its fans while excising what was universally criticized. Coming from the Animated side, there's an increased production quality but at the cost of lots of personality and charm.

How did you manage to miss all the times that Optimus or the other Autobots said that the remaining Cybertronians have been scattered throughout the universe ever since Cybertron became a dead planet?

Even upcoming supposedly exciting episodes won't change the fact that I am just burnt out on reboots that regurgitate the same theme. At least Beast Wars advanced the overall story.

its plain and simple the stories are small and condensed and rinse and repeat at this point.

The drama is going down hill and there is very little intrigue as the character intros are always the same we show up in a ship and there is some history betweeen them and someone.

There is no back story shows or anything about cybertron. Origins are fairly lame and they make it sound like everything is this big grand thing.

Its like Pokemon or any of those card game shows you can count on them to do 3 things talk battle then resolve.

There needs to be more episodes like the first 5 where its a long contiunous saga that doesnt feel cookie cutter and then has a great reveal at the end.

Maybe when they get unicron going it will but right now interest for the show lasts per episode we arent waiting for a see what happens next cause each one goes its own way.

I d say it would be awesome if they somehow worked in a race between deceps and bots to use ancient combiner technology ( cool right like cold war weapons race ) and use the phrase "Till All are One" as the mantra of this ancient tradition but keep that as a back drop then you find out the ultimate destiny for all transformers were to be one large combiner called..... wait for it Prim-a-Cron ( G1 thats right :)  ) but they divided into Primus and Unicron.

Hello Hasbro Id like to officially throw my hat in the ring as a writer or just someone who figures out your crazy unintentional puzzles.

Something were the story lines stay congruent for the most part with breaks would be wonderfull. Like how dragon ball z made you want to watch the next episode to see whats next granted it was usually alot of constipated sounding fights.

Sprocket will never forgive THE SONY TEAM! Never! Specially not after Spiderman 3 and the horrible JAPANESE animation in Metal Gear Solid 4!

I do, because making fun of typical Sprocketisms is STILL more original than video game memes! You don't even have an "Advice Sprocket" Macro yet, but oh god if Portal doesn't have billions of those.

    Nope!

The only Transformers Series I found boring are Armada, Energon and Cybertron.

I actually enjoyed Armada, but disliked the others. This show has some really boring episodes, with little rewatch value, but I find myself rewatching episode 23.

I thought I would be considering all the breaks, but like despite Prime's slow approach to storytelling I'm really enjoying it and loving the characterisation, even prime who while undeveloped personally you can tell what he's like just by his influence on the other autobots, also the recent episode was just absolutely mindblowing.

Well Justice League Unlimited had a cast of just about every single hero and villain in the DC Universe and it still remains one of the better cartoon series I've seen and people say I watch too many cartoons.

I think you can support a huge cast if you have a way to break down the stories into manageable numbers each episode. In Justice League Unlimited you didn't always need an entire army of super heroes or super villains so they could do stories with only a few heroes and few villains.

The good part of a huge cast like that is that you can break up patterns or explore a character deeper by teaming them up with someone else. Without Superman to save the day every episode characters like Booster Gold could get the chance to shine or Flash could be teamed up with Fire and Ice.

For some people we just want a bigger wider world than always having the same small cast each week. A show like The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes is just a little more fun when you have to guess what villain will show up next instead of having go oh gee it's the Wrecking Crew yet again.

I agree wholeheartedly, and JLU was a great example. More characters, to me, makes the universe feel bigger. Every episode doesn't have to focus on every character. Hell, half the episodes are about Arcee (also, is it odd that my phone spellchecks Arcee to "secretary"? That's some hidden sexism you've got there Verizon). I'd love to see the Constructicons, for example, as they all have really unique personalities. People would complain that they'd be too many characters, but again, they could get their episodes for character development, and not show up at all in others. For an example of that, see: the entire Decepticon cast.

Transformers, by the very virtue of its existence as a tool to sell toys, was never meant to be a show based only on a small core group of characters.

With so many episodes planned per season and a plan to have Transformers Prime as a long running series it kind of seems like the team would have time to develop a larger cast. We've already seen that Transformers Prime doesn't use every character every episode so with lots of episodes to fill it seems like there would be room for minor characters to shine.

Well it is pretty obvious we WILL get new characters. That's how action shows work, specially action shows made to sell toys.

I just hope the upcoming new bots all do more than poor Skyquake did. Design so cool, died so fast!

I like prime, but I find it is a bit on the dull side. I just have this sense that we're 20 something episodes in...and I feel not much has happened. Animated seemed better to me.

No, I don't. It's the only Transformer material I can watch in front of others and not feel ashamed. And that means a lot to me.
