I'm sorry to be a buzzkill but I see this as kinda pointless. Outside of it being a money grab since TF got it's face kicked in by Harry Potter and didn't get much breathing room for it's Imax release I don't see why they would do this. And the movie wasn't even filmed in Imax so your really just paying for a bigger screen and maybe if I'm correct some SLIGHTLY higher res which is still nothing compared to a actual movie that was filmed in Imax like ROTF (which also included extra robot footage, something this release would still probably lack).

There are no IMAX theatres anywhere close to where I live, so I won't be able to watch it :(  But I do hope the re release will boost ticket sales up even higher!

Really? I didn't know movies had a face. And as far a getting it's non existent face kicked in, if you told EVERY movie studio that there next movie was going to get it's non existent face kicked in by HP which resulted in their movie reaching number 4/5 on the top grossing movie list, they'd all say the same thing.

Hell yeah, kick our non existent face in!! We welcome it.

I hope it can beat "Harry Potter" ticket sales. I cannot believe that movie beat "Dark of the Moon" to the 10^9 dollar mark. It wasn't that great for me. A yawn.

Thanks! I missed it in IMAX so I'd love the chance to see it! I've never seen a film in IMAX before so this would be a good opportunity for me.

I wish it comes out as a IMAX 2D release. I'd prefer that more than anything.

Well that's a lie, RealD 3D is superior to Imax.

Yes! How dare they want to make even more money off that film! They should just give it away for free on the internet!!!!111!!

This is a pretty smart move by Paramount if it goes through- there's not much on the Imax release schedule right now, as I think Final Destination 5 is the last thing scheduled until September 9th (Contagion), so they can get in another weekend or two right now. The original run in many places got swallowed up by Cars, and nobody with an IMAX was going to say 'No' to Harry Potter. This gives some theatres the chance to run something they might not have earlier in the summer, and give the fans one more chance to see it.

This just in: Confirmation- at my theatre, we're playing a split IMAX schedule of Potter and Transformers starting Friday- HP gets the early shows, TF the evening shows. Most other theatre probably have their schedules up for next week on their websites, so you may want to check your local listings.

This is the news (hopefully) that I have been waiting to hear, would love to see again.
My usual IMAX is still under reconstruction after the Nashville floods but I found another and only an extra 20 miles or so...I'd drive it to see it in IMAX!!

Please keep us posted with updates!! :popcorn
