I have plans on getting exgraver, all of Hercules in fact. However I am trying to decide whether I should keep on buying g1's right now or if I should go ahead and get him right away.
My main worry is if I wait a few weeks to pick him up he will be sold out and I'd have to deal with eBay prices. Does any body have any idea if the demand is so great for this 100 dollar figure or should I be safe to wait a couple weeks.

I have a few g1 figures that I'd like to get first but I don't want to do that and then exgraver sells out.

    Any advice would be great.

Trust me, the G1 figs prices wont rise nearly as fast as the Hercules prices will. Buy him as fast as possible.

Go ahead and get Exgraver. Why take the risk? Those G1 figures have been around for 25 years, they can wait a little longer. They're not going to change in value, but Exgraver might if he sells out, and nobody really knows when that will happen.

I would be buying him no later than two weeks from now. Do you think he will be sold out before then? Where is the best place to get him? I was gonna go through tfsource any discounts or cheaper places?

robot kingdom is the best ive seen. I live in Aus so all the stockist would have to ship international to me anyway but Robot Kingdom+int Shipping is cheaper than BBTS price before shipping.... helps if your after more than one thing to combine and save on the shipping cost since RK is HK based... i grabbed some Perfect effect gear myself.

Not all G1 has their molds. TFC Hercules do and can always do a 2nd run. Depending on the demand of course.

I'd say, get the vintage G1 and put some cash aside for this tho as their is still a few stocks left at BBTS.

has any fig theyve done been this popular? no of course not.

i dont think well see massive aftermarket prices as tfc seem to not let there gear go OOP for long if theres enough demand to warrant another release.... what might happen is the illusion of scarcity when they sell out and tfc cycle through the other constructicons and dont have the resources to reissue the earlier ones due to production being tied up elsewhere... im sure theyd much rather you buy a new toy at market price from them than pay secondary price on the aftermarket... to that end im sure well get new printings of sold out figs once all 6 are out.

If you're worried about it, then I would suggest to go get it. To me, there's nothing worse than teeter tottering between choices and then only to find that you have to spend an exorbitant amount later to get the figure you had wanted initially. Its happened to me a lot and it sucks!

BBTS only shows 2 in-stock Exgraver figs at the moment (and 100 more for pre-order), so I guess that's a good indicative of it's current demand.

G1 figures will always be available, and with DotM already out there's nothing that's likely to cause a price shift. I always prefer to buy a retail figure at retail. Risking missing something and dealing with after-market price hikes is both a pain and easy to avoid.

Exgraver is likely to go up in price once it sells out, but it may take a while. If you're only thinking about waiting 2 weeks, you should be fine. However buying G1 (for me when I did it at least) is usually about finding a good deal on eBay, in which case it could be a while before you find something.

Do yourself a favor and get Exgraver. G1 figures aren't really hot right now so prices are pretty stable. Exgraver is on demand right now. And will be more so as other constructicons get released. This figure has the potential to increase in price in a short amount of time.

Yea those are my main concerns. But I'm also looking at getting a wheel jack and the remaining Dino bots I want. I will most likely just get exgraver. Thanks everyone

For obvious reasons, I'd recommend BBTS or Robot Kingdom over TFSource.

I recommend buying him now, because he is fun! IMO waiting for the whole set to come out and then buying all six would kill some of the enjoyment. It's been a long time since I've had the excitement I felt as a kid where I'd had to wait for the next figure because of birthday / X-mas or pocket money. As an adult collector I've actually gone out and bought entire ranges before (Superlink for example), and you kind of start opening them because they're there and it kills a lot of the enjoyment.
With Hercules, a lot of the fun is in getting each part, exploring the various modes and trying to picture the set as a whole. Exgraver was bought last week, and he's great fun to fiddle with. Can't wait for the next guy.

I would get Exgraver because he is at retail value. Once he is sold out, you're gonna pay alot more.

I don't think Wheeljack or the Dinobots' price have moved much in the past five years. As others have suggested put in a combo order with RobotKingdom for Exgraver and not-Long Haul and that should come out cheaper then BBTS. The demand for Exgraver is going to go up now once we get all of the pics but I'd say you have at least a month to 2 month window.

I wonder how much Robotkingdom and BBTS sold already. And I wonder if the restock is was another run done by TFC or if they have just been sitting on stock.

Any 3rd party product that is in high demand AND has sold out will command high after-market prices. Doesn't matter what company makes it. It's the law.
