Judging by the fact they used the same hands, upper arms, upper legs, neck for both Lion-o and Tygra, I think we'd expect Panthro and Mumm-Ra to be next year's two classics released. Because if you've got 'em, and you're using 'em on 2 toys a year, why not make it the most cost-effective.
It's hard to tell in the pics, but I take it it's just suppose to be generic Lizardman #7 and not actually Slythe?
Saw the lizard cannon last night and left it for a future purchase. Already had too many figures in my basket. In retrospect I should have left Cheetara and Lion-O on the pegs and grabbed the Lizard Cannon instead.
Yeah, you'll have no problem finding at least Lion-O anytime in the future. But with Lizard Cannon you may never see it again. And for my Thundercat day haul:
i thought about getting the lizard cannon, but once you catch what its supposed to be from the first episode, you notice its wayyy too small. Still cool looking I suppose.
BBTS sent out an email saying they would get their's in Thursday or Friday. I haven't been charged yet, so who knows.
Does anyone know if there is a way to harden plastic? I want to be able to harden the Lion-O sword. It doesn't look intimidating there all floppy. I really don't like the SDCC Lion-O paint apps but love his accessories and vice versa for the Classics. So I really would prefer saving $40+ shipping just for the sword. Would future or something else like that strengthen it and make it more rigid?
Got the 6" Thundercats stuff. Mumm-Ra is delightfully massive, but ultimately unwieldy. I won't say he's bad as it'd be like going "Oh, I'm only the third richest person in the world. Damn." I feel that Lion-O is probably going to be the middle ground for the line, and I find it unfortunate. He's pretty cool all around, but his hand swapping and his somewhat bendy elbows make me wince a bit. I also wish his ab-crunch joint was a bit more roomy and had a bigger range of movement. Meanwhile there's the goddamn Panthro, who so far is my favorite of the line as he feels like the most rounded package. He's the only one not to have any swappable hands or anything but he feels the most complete out of the three in terms of posability, weapon functionality and outright quality. He definately feels like the most solid and the sculpt is incredible. Really want to see him more in the show. I hope the 6" line does continue into the future. I'd kill for a 6" Slythe and Tigra in his military-style gear. EDIT: Also, I still can't believe the step up in engineering that the line has been for Bandai of America. Last toys that even felt any close were those old Power Rangers Super Legends, and even then those things haven't aged well. I hope this line is also a bit of a new beginning for BoA, as I'd love to see the Power Rangers line be... well... good.
Just got back from Wal Mart. The very well-informed and very polite moustached lady who works in the toy isle told me they weren't getting the Thundercats toys in until POSSIBLY Christmas, and that's only if they came in special. The way she said it made it clear she'd been asked the question a lot.
too bad the 6" mumm-ra doesn't come with optional wings. it would have been a nice added bonus. if they make a classic mumm-ra i would like it to be a special 10" figure. 8" classic cheetara please.
i mainly just want a 6 inch cheetara and tygra so i can have the whole main cast in this scale. we really do need a new cheetara, the 4 inch one is such a dissapointment
I need to find a way to tighten Panthro's ankles, dudes too manly to be falling over all the damn time. This was of course after I had to operate on him to flip his belt rightside up. Thank god for super obvious screws!
That's what I said. And the way she said it made it seem like Wal Mart wasn't even going to GET the line this year. Also that's weird, the first and only time I get into Thundercats toys and the six-inch Lion-O (which is the one I really want) comes in stock on BBTS. Bizzare coincidence.
