I've been holding back on a lot of the DOTM figures but recently I've been a' hankerin' for Voyager Megatron and Shockwave.

However, you probably have heard the rumours (And that's all they are, rumours) of 2 Leader Class Decepticons being released early 2012. If these turn out to be Megatron and Shockwave, I don't want to feel like I've wasted my money on the voyagers (As good as they may be).

So, do you think it's worth to get the voyagers?

The voyagers are great toys. Even if they get leader treatments on characters, it doesn't change the fact that both are great toys.

I understand not wanting to rebuy figs, but you have to remember a couple things. Those are prolly the two most popular figs in the DotM Voyager collection, and are harder to find than most. (not impossible but sold out in lots of places at retail pricing)

And Shockwave looks to be getting a repaint (or two), which IMHO, is nowhere near as nice as his OG paint scheme.

What is it with Long Island that they have all the good stuff, lol

here in NYC, you can find Megs somewhat easily, but shockwave, he's around all over....Im with you buddy, I also dont want to rebuy a figure if it comes out....but it would suck even more if I wait for a Leader class that never comes out and forced to buy a voyager class at ebay prices...I think the smart thing would be to wait till the end of the year, maybe, when hopefully we might have some more news of 2012 leader class and then decide since Im sure there will be plenty of stock of these figures for the holidays...

I bought shockwave but not megs cuz I would think Megs Leader class IS a given but I can be wrong....just a suggestion...

Yeah, that "voyagers hard to find" thing was a lot more true a month or two ago. I run across both in the darndest places lately (but have no interest in either).

Man, things are just so regional, lol. I've seen the odd Megs and SW, but they are definitely not as common as the shelfwarmer OP.

Sometimes the city gets good stuff, too.

Right now, on Long Island TRU, Walmarts, and Targets,

I see tons of Deluxe up to wave 3. Tons of Bees
I see ratio of about 5 voyager optimus prime to 3 megatron to 2 shockwaves/skyhammer to 1 Voyager sentinel/fireburst op (5:3:2:1)
I also see an incredible amount of leader Bees, a slightly less incredible amounts of sentinel.

But anyways, not many people hunts on the island I suppose

On the island of Staten, there are no Specialist Ratchets or Cyberfire Bumblebees, but you can find plenty of Leaders(including Ironhide). NO good cyberverse figures...also Megatron is definitely the most scarce. My Toysrus has about 20+ voyager Optimus's taking up valuable space for other voyagers.

Buy em from walmart and return them if the rumor turns out to be true.if youre willing to wait on a leader, you should have the willpower to resist breaking them open until word gets out.

    Yes, get 'em.

They are both excellent, and it's not a sure thing the two Leaders are Megs and Shockles, OR that they'll be any good.

Trust me, if they are leaders, I'll like them. It's a curse really (But how could they be bad?). Just if I buy the two voyagers, my problem will escalate and force me buy more and more (My OCD, it makes so sad, but so happy at the same time)

Hasbro is going to avoid it's best to put out products that competes with each other. It wants you to buy both so we won't likely get any information about a leader until after the Christmas season and by that time voyager Megatron and Shockwave will be long gone. Personally, I'm going to wait on the chance that if a leader never comes out I'll be able to pick up a loose one down the line. If you do not want to take that chance I suggest you get the voyagers now but try to squeeze them on a sale at Target or TRU.

Personally, if I had known both leaders and voyagers of both toys were coming out, I would still get both, so I don't know if my opinion helps you, lol. But for what it is worth, I would pick up the voygers now. If the leaders never come about then you are set :) , but if they do, it will not be a huge loss as you could easily resell those figures on the Junkion Exchange.

Fair point. but I doubt I'd sell if the leaders come out. Very good opinions... I think I have my mind up...

I've had the same problem with and between many toy lines.

I've never regretted holding out for a repaint, remold, or the like. My only regrets have been getting a toy when I presume an ideal version won't come out, only to find it does a year later.

Even of we don't get a leader-class Megatron, do you really think the voyager won't get re-released with some sort of alternative decoration, accessory, etc?

Probably not, but if that accessory was his shotgun, I'd buy it in a heart-beat.
