Just a few shots of what I've been working on lately. Still have some painting to do, on this mode, then it'll be off to the Bot mode for painting details. Enjoy Folks!
Thanks guys, appreciate it. Still working on painting the back sections metal details. Yeah, these decals are from several model kits. I had to shop around to find all the ones I needed for this scale. Most models are slightly bigger than this scale, so finding exactly what I needed took the most time. Thanks for looking!
looks awsome ! how much did you spend on the models ? Im planning a similar project and just wandered what sort of costs I will be looking at....
In my opinion that is by far the best DOTM fig hasbro have made cant wait to see the bot mode aswell!!!
Thanks again guys! I actually didn't have to buy the models. If you look on e-bay hard enough you can find everything you need. Just search "race car decals" and trudge through the endless list......Then once you get them, the next challenge is cutting them to fit. The "Amp" logo on the hood had to be cut into about 10 different little pieces and puzzled back together for a uniform look across the textured hood! Important to note that (as is with all my customs) I used several decals sizes and sheets to obtain this result. Theres decals from the deluxe Roadbuster by reprolabels, a 1/24 scale Dale Jr sheet, and several little HO scale Dale Jr. model decals as well.
AWESOME WORK!!! Suck that if Hasbro did make the figure like this.It would probably cost like $60 or more.Cause they would have to pay for the rights to put all those sponsor logos on the figure.Thats part of the reason Nascar die-cast are so expensive. But you can go on Ebay and find the decals to do this.JUst look up Dale Earnhardt Jr.THey should be anywhere from $10 to $20.
Great job man, you mind sharing what scale kits you bought, or the kits themselves? Either would be awesome of you! Edit, saw the 1\24 mention, after I posted
