(Sorry if a thread's already been made for this...) Since I've been obsessed with my Sims 2 game, I was wonderding if any other TFW members play any games in the Sims series.
I play sparingly (haven't really touched Sims 3), but my sister's the bigger fan. She has almost every expansion and stuff pack from Sims 2 and 3. I would play more often if I could afford it, but buying all the expansions is expensive. Still, this game is crazy addictive, it seriously kills my time.
Used to play 3, but haven't done much in a long time. I did a game once where it was a bunch of tf reviewers locked in a room....
I have the Double Deluxe Sims 2 pack that has the Original Game, Nightlife, and Celebration! Stuff. I've been totally addicted lately. Someone made Transformers that you can download and play, and I've been thinking about getting them and seeing what happens...
I finally got into Sims 3 this year. It's a bug-filled mess of broken elevators and pathing issues (particularly in Late Night's Bridgeport map), managing more than a couple of household members is a chore and there's less of a chance of meeting other Sims if you just hang around the house. Also, EA basically hacked a bunch of features out to sell in expansion packs, so it gets expensive, unless you bought one of the deals they sometimes have on Steam. But I can't go back to Sims 2's extremely long loading times and restrictive isolated lot based gameplay.
Used to play 2, but haven't touched it recently. I mostly design houses, haven't really played in live mode for a long time.
I played the original Sims sporadically since at least 2000. And by sporadic, I mean there were times I would play it all my waking hours and there would be times I wouldn't play it at all - but I was, nevertheless, in love with the game. That love has subdued though since I've been playing other things, and the fact that the original Sims only runs in 16-bit colour mode doesn't help. I have The Sims 3 as well but it's just not the same...and the fact that I can't make use of the Steam discounts on the expansions because I have a retail copy doesn't help.
I found that one at a garage sale store about 2 weeks ago. I play it every day. I'm still on my first family in Pleasantview (or whatever) which has led to some strange stories since I based the original sims on my friend and his wife. I'm not sure how Nightlife works tho.
