They included Hudson Hawk and Howard the Duck, and had the Last Airbender at No. 20.

This list can be safely ignored.

Okay, to have ROTF as NUMBER 1 is a freaking crime. That slot deserves to be either Green Lantern or Rise of the Silver Surfer. Both of those were not good, and ROTF was really better than either of them. In fact, ROTF is my second favorite TF live action film.

But to have DOTM on there also!!!!!!! These people have really big balls. Now, i understand its their opinion and i respect that, but this was the best film I've ever seen!!! Really, was it nessecary to list it in the Top 20? Really? Yes, sure, it kinda did bad with Critics, but fans loved it. Magazine writers really need to start taking fans into account for these lists so we can help write them. Cuz if we did help write it, ROTF would not be 1, either the above two or The Last Airbender would be cuz i know for a fact a lot of fans were dissapointed at the end of all of these films. Espacially the Last Airbender. People BOOED the film when i saw it.

But again i still respect peoples opinions.

With age of the McMovies I'm shocked they could narrow it down to just 20 stinkers.

A long long time ago summer blockbuster used to mean something as film makers put the best of everything into their huge films not just the best special effects of the time period. I don't need my summer blockbuster to be an Oscar winner but damn I don't think the standard of something like Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is too high of a standard for modern blockbusters with their bloated budgets.

Some times it feels like finding an all around good summer action movie is accident instead of something the film makers set out to do.

Shocking that Micheal Bay only made the list three times.

Remember who was awarded a Razzie in 2010?? In Russia it was announced on national television! How so they can watch ROTF, to avoid those moments when I was burning with happiness, when my teeth chattered with excitement and admiration, when I sobbed, closing my eyes in the dark theater, and my heart was breaking with pain!... And when I felt, that the wings are growing, and how I passionate want to live again!
Why do they instead this saw a couple of small moments, such as Michaela's leg and Wheelie... For what are these film critics get their money if they are over 2 hours look at the floor in the theater, and on screen for only 5 minutes!

Time Magazine is an extremely embarassing, useless and horribly opinionated piece of rubbish to civilization. The same people who said "long live Che'!"

Yet, Catwoman is not worst then ROTF?!

Hey, I'm a TF fan. Have been since I was a kid. I grew up with the toys, watched the show and all.

I was jazzed about the first movie. Loved it. Enjoyed the second movie, although it wasn't "perfect." Before the middle of DoTM, I was sitting there with a WTF?!?! look on my face.

I wanted to like it. I really, really did. I wanted to be able to recommend people see it, so maybe they can get why even today I like TFs and buy them still. But I just can't. When I walked out of the theater, a group of guys asked what I thought. I had to say I didn't like it.

If anything, now that I've seen it, I'll point people to the TF Prime cartoon as an example of "good" Transformers material.

I think a lot of you guys are just "too close" to TFs and, dare I say, blinded by fandom to see or at least understand the criticism. Some of the comments in this very thread show the knee-jerk reaction that comes from that.

I concur, not only should Batman & Robin have been #1, it is the absolute worst movie I have ever seen. "Keel duh heroes!" "Luv iz naught for dee cold hawted!" "Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee" and then the effing scene with Robin in Poison Ivy's little pool thing where they just reversed the tape for him coming out and going it. Terrible. TIME magazine is now up there with the bullshit critics that don't really know anything about movies, and shouldn't be watching blockbusters. Save them for the people that appreciate them and go watch your bull crap Academy Award movies.

It's not that it's just that people here are just SO FUCKING TRILLED AND EXCITED that there even exists a Transformers movie, in fact that there is anything transformers related that they are just blind to the quality of it.

It's just like with the Phantom Menace. People at first LOVED it since they were soooooooo excited that there's ANYTHING Star Wars related playing in the theartes again that thay didn't care how big of a piiece of shit it is, until some time has passed.

I'm pretty sure there is a list of requirements as to what constitutes a blockbuster for the list. Instead of a just coming out in the summer the movies on the list had huge budgets for their time and advertised as the movie of the summer.

Loads of really bad "B" movies or movies dumped off in August that wouldn't be included on the list because they were never considered to be blockbuster material in the first place.

Low budget isn't too bad of an excuse, studio losing faith in a poor production and dumping the film is a bit of an excuse. The films on the list don't really have a good excuse for being bad.

Can't be as bad as the "smurfs" accourding to
"Keith Staskiewicz of Entertainment Weekly gives the movie a D+ and writes that it has the stink of a shameless cash-grab full of recycled ideas."

Shocker: Smurfs Ripped by Critics | Movie Talk - Yahoo! Movies

The syfy channel is advertsing the smurfs during every commerical break.

I do believe that ROTF will not be the 20 worst summer blockbusters after when they watch the smurfs.

It wouldn't be so bad, except that their reasoning behind the entry is complete bullshit.

Wouldn't say it's the worst summer blockbuster, but it's definitely sort of poopy. Mind you, one can still have fun with poopy - but it would be nice if some people would just accept that some points of critism are justified, even if they don't agree with it, rather than lashing out like rabid fanboys.

I do sort of agree that their reason (and many other list's reasons for hating ROTF) is flawed.

What if it was put there because it made more money than every other bad movie?

This is definitely partially why ROTF always ranks 'high' in these kinds of lists: they're sometimes put together by people who outright hated the movie, and simply cannot believe, or even stand, that it was so popular and made so much money. Bonus points, so to speak.

Still, doesn't make it a good movie :p  But like what you like, hate what you hate!

Agreed. I don't think ROTF is the worst summer blockbuster ever, but I'm not gonna sit here and condemn Time for offering their opinion on the matter.
