Generally it seems to be agreed that the PS2 Armada game and "War For Cybertron" are the best among the many, many offerings. I still haven't shelled out the cash to join the next-gen gaming community, so I don't know about WFC. But I can say that the Armada game is still incredibly fun and that I've been unimpressed with everything else that I've been able to play (Beast Wars, Transmetals on PS1, TF Movie and RotF on PS2).

What's your opinion? What's the best, Best, BEST TF game ever made?

out of the movie games, the first transformers game was definately the best.
it was basically Grand Theft Transformer. You could just walk around places and blow everything up!!

Just a note, the 360 & PS3 are now called the current generation. There is talk of the next generation of consoles with those two nearing their decennial. Heck one could even consider the Wii U the beginning of the next generation.

But the two games most lauded Transformers games are War for Cybertron and Armada. Revenge of the Fallen also has a number of outspoken supporters.

I have not played Armada. But from my experience War for Cybertron is the king.

wfc to me. i mixed g1 style with some movie acrobats and sounds. but the feel was entierly g1. the music was great, the story was good. online is kick ass and the dlc was the bomb digity. i just wish they did the voices for jazz, onslaut, dead end, and scattershot for escalation.

The armada game on PS2, and War for Cybertron for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

The DS games are ok. There have been nine of them. Do to the whole autobot and decepticon version deal.

My opinion as well. The minicons gave a nice range of upgrades, a sense of objective and accomplishment, and may I say they were better characterized in the game than in the cartoon. Also, the way you can go back to the areas you visited, it's all fun. Plus, the way all Decepticons were portrayed as bosses was very nice, scary as hell - Starscream comes off quite realistic if you think about taking down a robot that turns into a jetfighter. Lots of extras, it was pretty awesome.

And WFC ripped off the opening sequence from PS2 Armada! :D

For me, it's a tie between WFC and the 07 Movie game.

    Overall: WFC.

In terms of gameplay only: ROTF (by a mile). There are not many games that ever archieved such depth.

    #1 ROTF
    #2 WFC
    #3 DOTM

I restarted ROTF after beating DOTM and it's takes much longer to actually play and beat Revenge vs. doing the same with Moon, plus the ability to choose which character you want to play as in Revenge is awesome. I enjoyed ROTF so much and was playing so often that my girlfriend bought a 2nd copy for me to play on my Xbox in the bedroom so I can play it and chill in bed with her rather than play on the PS3 in the basement.

While this is an interesting game..
It takes a lot of getting used to, in order to be fun, and even that is subjective.

I personally really enjoy the game, but I can certainly see where people wouldn't enjoy the game.

Now keeping in mind I like that particular game. It's nowhere close to being the best..
I'd give the best to WFC or the Armada Game to be honest. WFC because of the number of characters, the Armada game for the fun of a big wide open place to mess around in.. Too bad there weren't more characters!

My cap is a bit better than that one as well:

For movieverse my vote goes to ROTF. That is one of the few transformers games that was more of a transformation game instead of a shooter.

But for non movie, it is easily War for Cybertron. That game gives you alot of fun stuff to do. While maybe a bit focused on shooting, it is still one of the best transformers games to date.

War for Cybertron and the PS2 Armada game are what I consider the best.

yeah i dug this one as well..i bought a japanes PS2 just for this game when it came out..then i went and got the macross one to boot(which is a really fun game btw)

but my favs are a toss up between Armada..everything in that game seem to make sence and i actually enjoyed looking around for mini cons to boast my bots stats..overall well developed game that most overlooked..

the other is WFC...multiplayer was decent and with out a doubt WFC2 will improve on this.mulitplayer had all the makings of a sweet online experience just fell short in some areas but i enjoyed the hell out of it..the story mode was BOSS kept me well interested throughout the whole playthrough and was left wanting more after i beat it w/ both campaigns..

WFC definitely takes that cake. Probably the most polished Transformers game I've played.
