Another novel? Coolies! If it's tied in with the TFP universe as others have suggested, then it looks like it's gonna be a pre-show story about BB's (and Gears') arrival to Earth. If I remember right, from TFP BB's bio description, he was the first of the Autobots to come to Earth. If that's the case, I say Gears dies or has to leave by the end of the story.

No, the book takes place before the first TF Film, becuase the gears i nthe book is the movieverse gears so is bumblebee (he is in his first body from Movie 1) so its not a priem book its a movie book

 

Can we know for sure this book takes place in Movieverse and not Prime just by the cover? How does that phrase go--Don't just a book by it's cover?

WTF? This isn't "original" unless by original they mean more film related merchandise. Come on young adults and teens aren't going to read this, they would rather jump for "Twilight" or "Harry Potter" unless they made the book a teen sci-fi that had nothing to do with the movies, making it a new franchise.

 

If this is all true, then this sucks. I was really hoping for an original Prime novel series since I'm not a fan of Bayformers.

I guess the irony in that sentence and what we actually got is both funny and annoying.

Maybe not... regarding the RotF Gears toy... he's a neat mold... but as others in the past have pointed out, his mold fits X-Brawn a great deal more. Course, Gears is actually a repaint of TFTM Stockade.

I got RotF Gears a few weeks back at a Marshall's for $7. There's a few Marshall's/T.J.Maxx stores that have RotF stuff on clearance.

 

People are complaining that the movieverse is getting additional fiction? Come-the-hell-on. Between IDW, TFCC, The Hub, and WFC 2 coming next year there's a veritable shit-ton of non-movie stories going on. Add to that the fact that IDW has no more plans for movie comics in the near future and I don't see what the issue is. And its not like this is the only book coming out either, Exiles anybody?

 

One reason people are complaining is because the movieverse ended, it's over--some new movie may be added in that fiction, but there's no official word. So getting a prequel, a word a lot of people don't like in any media, to a series when we already know how that series ended can be a tad annoying to some. And yes, people may say it's still a prequel no matter what verse it belongs to, but those other stories haven't ended yet.

I believe Hasbro means (what the tfwiki refers to as a) "continuity family", rather than direct continuity. A continuity family (roughly) means several different storylines derived under a common source and characters, placed under a single umbrella.

Eg: What we now know as Generation 1 began with two completely separate main fiction sources (Marvel Comics and the cartoon) that had little to do with each other, other than sharing the same characters.

Damn, I was hoping it would be about Prime. Not that I don't like the movieverse or anything, but who the fuck was clammoring for another prequel starring fucking Gears? Isn't there already enough prequels to the first movie?

 

There are only 2 prequels to movie 1, a comic and a novel
