I played one match on Xbox and got the complete wave 15 achievement on my first match. I'd done it before on Playstation, but with all the people that i've played with on xbox there wasn't really any bad players.

I'm pretty good at escalation and usually get 1000 points by wave 5 with my never-failing tactic. I hate bad team mates. I hate that in videogames people act like they have to play alone even in team-based modes. Escalation isn't about how much kills you get - it's about surviving and kills only matter when procuring items which even so should benefit the team.

Why the hell do people separate themselves from the team? Why? It's irritating. Smart, experienced players know to stick together while others go to the scrapmaker room and get downed while others are fighting elsewhere. And why don't people bother getting stuff during the countdown?

Some people would rather kill bots (and fail at it) than heal a squad member. Once someone stole my scrapmaker before I could pick it up and stole my second one straight after for AMMO!

I usually pick a character for their skill and usefulness. For example I usually main Bumblebee but will either pick Arcee or Air Raid because the latter 2 have cloak plus Air Raid is a jet and I can flee while cloaked or get to team mates and revive while cloaked.

If anyone wants to play GT: Asikokami :)

I only play Escalation with friends or do solo matches. It's the only way to play Escalation. Far too many jerks online and this thread just reminded me why I only play private matches and choose who to invite to my matches.

I was able to get to wave 14 with a group of strangers, not all public matches are bad. I wasn't able to get farther due to the shitty connection, which promptly dropped me at wave 14. We would have gone so much farther together.

What I usually do is stay with my teammates up in the overshield room. We take care of what spawns upstairs with us quickly and effectively if my teammates are competent, and then take out those that are coming up the stairs, with one or two of us staying at the ammo bridge and that corner in the OS room to shoot down jets and take out other decepticons from afar.

When the two or three of us have fought our way downstairs and have a path cleared, it's a free for all. We hunt down the remaining enemies in a frenzy, and usually have the wave beat in 3-5 minutes.

That's what I do. What I can't stand is when a teammate repeatedly dies and goes off on their own like they've learned nothing. I can't stand it. If I'm up fighting in the OS room, and you die across the map, no, I will not abandon my teammates when you're probably swarmed by shotgunners unless I'm a jet and can get to you quickly, otherwise you just screwed yourself pal by trying to be Rambo. Sorry.

Oh, and the douche bags that steal the weapons you buy.

escalation is my favorite mode but i find more often than not when i play it, its with kids less than half my age (im 29) and that's why most games aren't good...however, generally speaking if you get a game going with a dlc map your chances are much higher of getting decent teammates.

I played once with 1 other player, we died on wave one, mostly because the player kept shooting me...not the best way to go out...

I tend to be more of a support player. But somewhat capable enough to handle myself while staying alive as long as possible. Hell, I might rely on luck too much, but works most of the time. Though I unlock doors and occasionally buy things for others, if they can communicate.

Might pull out WFC again when I come back from my vacation, and then try out some multiplayer and Escalation. (Might have to get used to it again, since I haven't played WFC in a year. So if anyone spots someone called PSI-Breakaway online in Escalation on the PS3, it's me. Pretty much trying to get back in shape in WFC, before my attention gets derailed by the inevitable releases of BF3 and MW3.

    Not gonna lie here.

When I first saw this thread's title, I thought it said something along the lines of "People are terrible at escalators" & I was like wtf how is that even a skill?.

... seriously though, there's always the offline play where you'll only have to deal with CPU shit.

It's true. Escalation is all about strategy. If you can't communicate, then your team is useless. Four people running around with no plan on how to support each other and get by against an organized team of enemies is a disaster.

Uh, I cant say that I agree with you on this one. I JUST got a mic three days ago, and yet as you can see by my signature, I far from suck at the game lol. Its not about communication, though that does help a great deal, much of it is common sense. You dont NEED a mic to communicate. If you just revived someone and you see they have very few points and cant affored to heal let alone get an overshield it should be obvious they need help.

REAL teamwork shows when people can work together without needing to speak. Thats why I always use Zeta Prime and Demolisher, I cast Ammo beacon every other round and use War Cry when I see we are in trouble. I revive allies when they fall and try to not do anything stupid, its worked well for me so far.

I, admittedly, lone wolf for the first few waves. But when things start gettung ugly, I swap to a more team player. I play with any character with barrier or sentry. Barrier reloads pretty quickly and easy to snipe from, if you stand just next to the barrier so you're half protected. Sentry because it takes out enemies pretty quickly, and come in handy if an enemy comes too close to your barrier.

Do you guys still do those regularly? I played once with Ladywreck and a couple others (you may have been there) and it was a good time!

Pretty much everyone online is terrible at WFC in general.

    At least on the 360.

    You sure it them?
I'm not the best. But the thing that annoys me more than bad team mates; are people who are too damn good, they off on there own killing all the mobs, taking all the credit (so we have no weapons). Leave the rest of us behind, as we try to follow him but end up dead.
Just something to watch out for. Good player don't mean good team mate.

Anyways. i play alot, you need a head set. The people you play with, they need head sets. End of story.

And you need to pick and choose your games. If people are talking to much about there xbox score find another group. I'm sure that's not news.

Points I believe in with regards to Escalation:
-If a single player opens a door, he should be entitled to the free crap inside.
-If you die because your team was pinned down fighting and couldn't reach you in time, don't go an quit the game like a baby. (Especially if you're hosting)
-If you die and you see that they're just sitting around sniping crap from a safe location, they are sucky team members so feel free to quit.
-Don't pound a bunch of credits into a generator and wind up not having enough. Other players need to use the same generator to aquire goods and the last thing they need is you getting pissy about it. (A team player will reimburse the amount but are under no obligation to buy you anything)
-Don't steal from other players unless they are obviously helping you.
-If you're going to pool together to buy an energon ray or grenades, give it to the guy who doesn't get downed every round.
-Teamwork only applies when you have team members that are capable. Trying to save other players who spend all their time in bad positions or out in the open will end any game quickly. That's a fact of the matter.

These are just a few "rules" I believe any good player should live by. I originally started out in WFC playing nothing but Escalation and was in the top 20 standing. Top wave being 64 in Broken Hope and am still able to go to wave 18 alone.

^Pretty much this. I always feels good when helping a team mate. I've just been playing on Escalation and I rarely help people who ALWAYS die each round when they're on the other side of the map. I also hate it when people on Broken Hope go to the centre of the map and think they can take on 4 Titans.

A bit late to complain I guess but on e time in Broken Hope, I was on low health and there were plenty of Decepticreeps around so I ducked into one of the rooms and bought an EMP Shotgun. Before I could get it, I was killed by a Titan, no biggie there was a teammate really close. The bastard came up to me, took the Shotgun and left me to die. That's really bad teamwork IMHO
