Sorry, I do not know whether this has been posted before or not.

How do we remove the yellow stain from plastic Transformers?
I read that some people use hydrogen peroxide.
    Does that works at all?

If it does, will it works on die-cast as well?

    Many thanks.

i know that there has been a successful method found for this... But frankly? i'm afraid to mess with my G1 Ratchet. The problem is the stickers for me... I don't want to loose them.

This should be in the radicons creative discussion forum.

The Method is submerging parts in peroxide, and expose to direct sunlight, sometimes it works wonders sometimes just a bit and it just works on plastic parts, metal parts have to be cleaned or stripped and repainted. As soon as search is enabled again i will post the thread link here.

Hasn't the hydrogen peroxide treatment been confirmed to be a very temporary solution already? Like, three months later and the toys are as yellow as before?

Not that I'd heard, I know some people that used 3% had issues, but I've yet to see any yellow returning on the stuff I did (circa 6 months ago)

nope, one person said that, and it was proven to be an isolated case, my guess is he stored his figures in sunlight. ask chansformers, whose done more of it than most, and his are still white after a couple years, as are the ones i did

    Thanks guys!
    Very informative!!!
Really appreciated it for the effort.

I have to say it came a little bit too late for my Grand Maximus when I stripped it of it weapons part and discard the body as it was really yellow. Big regret now.

I am not so sure about repainting metal part, I will most probably make a mess out of it.

No, it happened to me, I dunked Mirages front end white piece almost a year ago and it came out white as white can get, same with G1 blades white guns as well. I put them in a storage tub in my house and there it remained until a week ago. When I took it out it was yellowed again along with Blades guns. But, some of the other items I dunked that were white and in the same tub remained white? I redunked it this week and its back to being perfectly white. I think some plastics are just more prone than others to yellow.

I think it depends on the toy. It seems like TF toys work wonders in Hydrogen Peroxide. I experimented with a old Power ranger toy (blue ranger) and it did lighten the yellow color, but when I dunked some parts of the blue, it got too light. I guess it doesn't work well on colors or the plastic was terrible. Some parts of the blue didn't even change much at all. I was also using 3% Hydrogen peroxide, so don't know if that was a factor or not.
