WTF loved the movie, but seriously what i wouldn't give for wheelie and brains to be living in my house, and to have carly as a girlfriend :O and sam is whining about not having anything. sheeeeeesh. WHEELIE AND BRAINS FTW!
But he is basically being supported by his girlfriend. I mean how many people would be content if their significant other is paying his bills while they are unemployed.
He also fought alongside Prime and the Autobots and got a medal from the Pres. Best damn dream a child could have. Despite being in an over-the-top war.
the 2nd and 3rd movies are basically the "Sam Witwicky is the best guy ever" show. Megan/Rosie basically exist only to act as foils for Sam's character, to give him a damsel to rescue/defend, and to show the audience how awesome Sam must be to have a hot girl totally into him like that. The action completely revolves around Sam, with him as an integral piece of prophecy and spirituality for a race of mechanoids from across the stars. Sam, a regular kid from the suburbs, is able to accomplish feats of military prowess and subterfuge beyond what highly trained soldiers and intelligence agents, giant steel warriors and eons-old scientists, are able. Everything works out for Sam, except for when it all gets reset at the beginning of the next film so Sam has something to overcome again. I guess what I'm saying is that they did a much better and plausible job of having Sam be an unwitting participant in the great war in the first film, and I'd have preferred they had kept it up. I understand that a human has to be central to the plot and the action in order to keep the film grounded in the real world, but the way it was done, it didn't seem like that anyway.
