I agree pretty much with everything you said.

Biggest waste for me were the twins. Easy way to fix it, go with the original plan of Sideswipe and his twin brother, Sunstreaker, or if Sunstreaker wasn't designed, they should have used Jolt so he had more than two second of screen time, and people would have liked them a hell of a lot more than the Twins.

Ironhide was a failed attempt at shock value. I have never in my life see anything like this. It costs money to design him, build him up as a character, people grew to love him, invested some time in his character, only to shoot him, and never talk about him again. Please tell me a movie or a story where a major fan favorite character was killed, and nothing mentioned again. I am all for somebody to make a forth movie and bring him back from the dead, it won't be disrespecting Ironhide, since he didn't get much respect in his death to begin with.

I found Ironhide's death to be great, added depth and weigth to the events of DOTM and settled Sentinel's betrayal and his status as the main villain.

They never talked about his demise, but both following scenes with Optimus were pretty obvious on he blaming himself for Ironhide's death, like him looking down in a depressed tone in the Autobot's base, talking to Sentinel absolutely pissed off, and flat-out saying "It's all my fault, I told your leaders who to trust but I was so wrong." in a very heavy and sad tone.

You people are overreacting to a ridiculous level, just because we never had "My poor friend Ironhide, I miss him." from Optimus or something like that, you think his death was pointless? COME ON!

Try to analyze things a bit deeper guys, not just the surface, watch Optimus' reaction!

His death has a very clear impact on the movie, it was the darkest hour of the Autobots, after his death, everything goes to hell in the movie [Autobots leaving Earth, Carly captured, Sam spy, Chicago being attacked], is like his death marked the kick in the teeth of the Autobots, they stop being big damn heroes and become the victims from that point on.

They only return to their big damn heroes a good while later on Sam's rescue.

I repeat: Analyze things deeper guys, DEEPER!

I'm a man and I don't see anything wrong with a enviroment friendly car, you're greatly exaggerating.

Maybe it's because we were treated by movies like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, StarWars, The Dark Knight, all of these movies dealt with death of major characters, and they did it respectfully. We know when we are being shit on, and when we aren't.

DOTM was never meant to be deep, it's as superficial as a movie can get!

Sideways was very useless. A shame I kinda enjoyed playing him in ROTF and I love the Audi R8.

Agreed 100%! They should have made it Bumblebee, Jolt, and Someone else....if they had to make twins they should have been Brawn and Cliffjumper, Gears, or Huffer..that way instead of lame humor we would get more awesome strong Autobots to feature in fight scenes and (believe it or not) Jolt screen time!!! :D

also...they could've still had the twins (Brawn and Huffer) fight Devy..and have an actual fight. Seeing that the battle isn't going well, Ironhide (or Ratchet) comes to help. After a few minutes of sweet action Huffer would get killed/eaten by Devy.

Later after the battle the autobots could regroup and Ratchet and Brawn could walk up carrying the remains of Huffer. Ratchet could then say "Prime we have lost a good friend and fighter....we can not fix him..." then Prime could make his speech about the losses and gain the battle has brought them.....sorry forgive me if you find my plot ranting annoying :p

Yahhh it was a real shame. Bay claimed "ohh yah there is gonna be alot more emotion in this one"....but he forgets to show any emotion for one of the most loved characters of the movie franchise! but i didn't really expect a whole lot since we didn't see a whole lot for Jazz, Arcee, and Que....but a simple name reference would've been fine! ughh i wish they could've left the franchise in the hands of a better director :/

This movie ALSO did it respectfully, haven't you read my post? The movie did show Ironhide's death respectfully, people just can't analyze things over the surface.

    For example:

"It's all my fault...I told your leaders who to trust, but I was SO wrong..."

That line is an obvious reference to Ironhide's death and Sentinel's betrayal, yet just because he never uttered "Ironhide" in the middle of the phrase, it's a disrespect to the character.

    Please guys, please.

Don't make me copy and paste my post on the "nerd rant" thread.

I think Shockwave just because this might be the last TF movie in Bayverse. I think he does a little bit more but they must of threw some parts out at the final cut.

Look, we're going to have to agree to disagree. You thought the whole premise was perfect, I do not. Following me around on all of the message boards isn't going to change my mind and attitude towards this film. Let us Ironhide fans be pissed, we deserve it!

First: I never said the movie was perfect, the movie has its flaws, but Ironhide's death is not among it.

Second: I'm not following you around, I simply state my opinion and argue with anyone that I think is wrong, as I keep saying, I love arguing.

I liked Ironhide too, but his death was a great way to bring depth to DOTM [I'd have prefered BB to die].

Sideways. He could have been a very interesting decepticon but instead was just kill off to make Sideswipe look "badass." He didn't get a chance to even do anything.

I thought Cybertron was a bit of a waste. Would of been cool if Optimus flew up to Cybertron after Megs/ Sentinel and fought there for a bit.
