it's all good, it goes by so fast who can say.

For Megatron where everyone discussed the changes made like the no flight mode and the no more fusion cannon with the shotgun instead, it's very possible that with the chunk of his noggin gone he might not be able to control a flight mode or a fusion cannon anymore. It does seem like a good portion of the fandom might just be underestimating the extent of what his internal damage really was.

I also noticed in the end battle scene where he was talking about the truce and the leading again he was in no way talking to Optimus, he was talking to Sentinel the entire time, I am pretty confident he even was looking at Sentinel the entire time, especially when he asked "who would you be with out me" since it logically refers to the alliance they formed, that if they hadn't Sentinel would probably already be dead. Optimus then butted in with the answer of lets find out. At least that's the way it makes sense, if he actually was talking to Optimus the whole time then.

@2:59, Movie Optimus is a litter bug :lol

No way. He was already allied with Sentinel. Why would he ambush his ally, nearly kill him, and then stop and ask for a truce? He was talking to Optimus.

No. He was looking at Prime, he was talking to prime, what he said would make no sense to Sentinel, and Bay isn't in on the Optimus Prime is an arsehole joke. At least I don't think he is.

Because he realized he screwed up in being goaded by Carly into attacking Sentinel and in no way was going to be able to finish off Sentinel before Optimus got back up and he was in a panic trying to, not so much apologize for attacking him, (Sentinel) but explain it before he got killed by either SP or OP or both.

You gotta take into account his clearly fragged mental state at that point and it makes sense when you think it through

If he has just said the line that sounded more like the novel where he didn't want to fight anymore and wanted a truce, that would totally fit talking to Optimus. But mentioning he just wanted to lead again, it made far more sense it was addressed to Sentinel (considering the circumstances)

I guess I could be over thinking it and in the end it doesn't matter much as the result wouldn't have changed if he was talking to SP or OP or to an invisible friend in his head, he was gonna die.

Nope. In the original ending in the script, which the book and comic were based off of, Prime OFFERED Megs a truce. The movie ending switched it, by Megs asking for it, and OP killing him instead.

Sure, Megs was goaded into killing Sentinel, but he knew she was right. Sentinel WOULD HAVE ruled alone, and Megs killed him instead. Or tried to at least.

The reason Megatron asked for the truce was because Cybertron had just been destroyed by the destruction of the pillar. Megs plan had failed, and therefore asked for a truce with Optimus. He didn't even need Sentinel anymore.

(just caught the edit) yeah, that actually does paint it in a new light I didn't think about at the time (and that's why I like having a less crazy busy place to discuss things sometimes :thumb )

Speaking of Sentinel, I am curious, not having read all the secondary material on the movieverse is there any mention of the mechanics of the eye colors? since they seem do the even split of 'cons red and 'bots blue, I am wondering if the eye colors are static even if they flip sides or do they change with the characters.. attitude/alignment

With Wheelies' eyes the larger outer part still looked red, but they did seem to look as if they were starting to turn blue on the inside, unless that is just a side effect of where Ratchet did the repairs. (In summary I was wondering how in hell Sentinel's eyes were not red if they were not static from construction.)

I dunno. There were a couple quick moments where I thought Sentinel's eyes were purplish, but it was only for quick moments and they looked blue again.

I'm half tempted to buy the book after hearing how it ends.

Might make it 'shelf canon'. :D

Your discussion of homicidal Prime (at least when he's viewed in that light) makes me believe that there's barely any difference between him and Shattered Glass Prime.

my biggest gripe was Laserbeak having no set altmode and the worm having no altmode at all. yes, it was visually impressive, but how much better would Trypticon have been? also, where's everyone's favorite character, Jolt? if laserbeak can turn into anything, why can't Megatron fix his gaping skull hole? why were their eyes suddenly kill switches? how the HELL could Bumblebee take out Soundwave? Was Q Wheeljack, or vice versa? Was Dino Mirage, and if so, for how long? If a train leaves Newark travelling south at 60 miles per hour, why would it explode in a Michael Bay movie?

it was infinitely better than 2, but sweet mama of Bahama, it just raises more questions.

Great job on the podcast guys. It was really enjoyable, especially the discussion about the sensationalised nature of film reviews these days.

Vangelus, I think you confused protoform with hatchling. A hatchling is indeed a baby Transformer in the movie universe, but they're the little critters seen back at Megatron's camp site (and on the wreck of the Nemesis in the last movie). The guy in the fighter that the Wreckers kill is a protoform, which in the context of the movies is a transformer that hasn't yet chosen an alt mode (like the scene from the first movie where we see Prime, Jazz and Ironhide briefly wander around in identical, nondescript bodies before scanning vehicles).

The Decepticons used these "protoform" CG models as random cannon fodder in ROTF and DOTM, so yeah, no baby killing for the Wreckers :)

I believe it was actually an auto shop, with the sign above the specific shopfront saying "gasoline" or something.

Ah crap, I think I just referred to them as "Decepticon infants" a few times in the followup recording. :lol  Oh well.

I suddenly love that scene moreso for having an exploding gasoline shop.
