So far I've only built Prime in truck mode. Before building the bot, I'm gonna try to build him as a cab over.

I posted this in the news forum, but toys r us has a B1G1 50% off on all Kre-O sets. I bought all of the sets except the two small sets without kreons. I ended up getting about $65 worth of sets free. Also got a couple of free movie tickets to DOTM because of the promotion of buy $25 worth of Transformers toys get 1 ticket.

Was going to just keep the little G1 kreons and sell the sets, but man these things have grown on me and since I am big into lego I can combine the sets with extra pieces to make them better. I plan on making Megatron a kick ass canon soon. I can see a website coming up in the future with fan builds that could make these sets really fun to own.

BTW, if you want to buy individual pieces to upgrade your Kre-o's check out bricklink.com

They are silly to me. Everyone is talking about them like they are the coolest but they are nothing more than overpriced, glorified lego sets. What the hell is a Kre-o anyhow? Lame....

Overpriced? Have you checked the price of Lego lately? Kre-O are a steal at the price they are. The Jazz set is 122 pieces and was $12, and many Lego sets having that many pieces range in the $20-$25. Plus, the quality of the sets are just as good as Lego.

Lego's are legos. Who the hell wants a lego looking statue of a Transformers? I just don't see the allure of them. Judging by the mounds of ones warming the shelves at my local Walmart, they should be clearanced by Christmas. Save your money. You'll be kicking yourself later.

the thing is I really want the G1 looking mini figs, they look so cool, but if the set is over $30 I cant justify paying that for little lego figs, cool or not.

Yeah, I tend to buy a good amount of Legos now and then and Kre-Os are way better price-wise. I'll admit they're not the coolest Transformers toys out on the shelfs but if anything (and forgive me if I sound like a broken record) they're one hundred times better than Built to Rule.

Oh, and to the "What the hell is a Kre-O" thing, I remember hearing that it comes from a greek word or something of that matter. I'll have to check that out. Unless you didn't mean that, then oh well.

Also, on the thing of the whole "THEY CAN"T TRANSFORM!".... If I wanted to buy a Transformer toy that transformed, I'd buy a Deluxe toy or a mainline toy or whatever. The main idea of any building block toy is that you can take it apart and build something else, and that is what you do when you "transform"" it. Sure, it can be time consuming, especially with the larger sets, but I think it's worth it when both modes look decent at the least. Plus, if you wanted to modify the robot mode for more pose-ability or what not, it wouldn't effect the other mode.

Some of that wasn't aimed at you, gamit20480, I just wanted to say it and figured I may as say it here.

I'm not trying to defend Kre-O with my life here. Trust me, there are some sets I'm not to keen on, most I don't even own so I can't actually have a solid opinion on it. Maybe it's because I got one of the better sets first, (Sentinel Prime) but I don't think Kre-O is a waste of a brand. I'd love to see the line grow and improve with time, and I'm sure some people would be up for that too. I actually heavily dislike the Basic Prime set, but I wasn't the one who built it and there's a decent chance something was built wrong, so...

*sigh* That was my first big post that actually had some meaning into it. Needed to get that out is all. :)  The last thing I want to sound like is that I think Kre-O is perfect and anyone who says different is wrong, and hope I didn't sound like that.

They're not statues. Sure, the smaller sets lack articulation, but the larger ones are pretty articulated.

Dude. They just got a Walmart release. How dense are you? And if they do get clearanced, this gives more people to enjoy them.
