This should be very cool! The idea is to get TFW2005's creative community together to collaborate on some fan fics. Each project would have a writer and an artist. (or photographer...duh   ) Writers, (another "duh") artists and photographers are all welcome.

I don't think there need to be any rules. Just let everyone know you're in, find someone you want to work with and get crackin'. And of course, keep everyone posted on the progress  

I've linked to this thread in my sig. Feel free to copy it word for word so everyone knows where to find some fellow collaborators!

Wrote this over five years ago for some Alternators Ricochet comic contest. I didn't win, not sure if anyone was picked, so here you go. Enjoy.

The script is below. I'm not sure how the spacing will hold up in the text section of an e-mail, but I used spaces instead of tabs so it should work out. Let me know if you have any questions.


PAGE ONE

PANEL 1

Skids in vehicle form is driving down a street in Autobot city in the morning. There are other cars on the road, but it's by no means busy. Carly is inside, but she isn't visible.

CARLY (INSIDE SKIDS)
It's OK if you don't have a theory regarding this summons. After all, it's not like your theories are always right.

SKIDS
Really Carly, when have I ever been wrong?

CARLY (INSIDE SKIDS)
Well, didn't you say that the Decepticons would have been driven off Earth, but completely control Cybertron by this point?


PANEL 2

Rear view of Skids approaching Autobot City space/air port. There are a couple of large transport planes (Herculies or some other heavy vehicle transport) on the tarmac in the distance. Several Autobots are gathering around one of the planes, but they are too far to be identified.

SKIDS
I said that nearly 20 years ago, and I still maintain that I'd have been right were it not for the discovery of the concentrated energon crystals in 1996.

CARLY (INSIDE SKIDS)
Sure, blame it on those Yukon coal miners.

SKIDS
History was changed by the unearthing of that strange energon, and the countless other deposits in the far northwestern portion of the planet.


PANEL 3

Skids is stopped and Carly is getting out, Spike and Daniel are walking toward them in the distance.

SKIDS
Your ability to send any Cybertronian frame into stasis lock was something I could not have foreseen in the 80's.

CARLY
Well, sorry for the inconvenience of having to adopt the human-designed alternate frames, but I for one am very happy we finally have an effective defense against the Decepticons.


PANEL 4

Grimlock is marching toward Skids, who is still in vehicle form. Carly is walking away toward her family.

CARLY
Oh, and thanks for the ride...Skids. Sorry, with all the identity issues involved with the switching to Alternator frames, I'm second guessing myself every time I use one of your names.

SKIDS
No problem Carly. Why hello Grimlock.

GRIMLOCK
It about time! You Skids with Prowl's stand-by team. Me Grimlock take my team to crash site.


PANEL 5

Interior of the cargo plane, Grimlock, Meister, Side Swipe, Sunstreaker and Tracks are all parked in car mode. Grimlock is in the front of the group.

SKIDS (O.P.)
What crash site?

GRIMLOCK
As you already heard, two ships detected entering Earth atmosphere, both consistent with 'Con small recon ship, one drop below tree line and disappear from scanners, other crash.


PANEL 6

Skyward facing shot of Autobots driving out of plane. The first ones out are robots (Grimlock and whoever you want to draw - except Tracks) and parachutes are being deployed, the second group are in mid-transformation, and the last ones out are still cars (Tracks in this group).

PANEL 1

Autobots are collecting themselves after what appears to have been a rough landing for some of them. Grimlock is marching through the group. A dirty and slightly dented Sunstreaker is speaking into his wrist communicator.

GRIMLOCK
Fleshy-built frames survive impact?

SUNSTREAKER
Hey Wheeljack, I need you to pencil me in for a buffing and some detailing as soon as we get back.


PANEL 2

Autobots gathering around the smoldering remains of a small Decepticon ship, one with a tinted canopy for the pilot. Most have their weapons pointed at the cockpit, but Sunstreaker and Side Swipe are keeping watch for uninvited visitors. Sunstreaker is once again talking into his wrist communicator. Meister is reaching to open the canopy.

SIDE SWIPE
Mind on task, prettyboy.

MEISTER
Alright Autobots, on three. One...two...

SUNSTREAKER
Better pencil Side Swipe in for some major reconstruction too.



PANEL 3

View from inside cockpit looking out. Meister is holding it open with one hand, his weapon pointing at the viewer with the other. Grimlock and Tracks are aiming at the viewer as well, these three Autobots have looks of surprise on their faces (yes, might be tough for Grimlock). Side Swipe is in the background peering over his shoulder toward the cockpit.

MEISTER
...Three!

PANEL 4

POV Ricochet laying down, vision very dark and blurry to represent optics coming online. Directly above him is the hazy form of Wheeljack.

WHEELJACK
He's coming on line. Hey kid, can you tell me your name?"


PANEL 5

Ricochet sitting up on a medical slab, snapping wires connecting him to his old Cybertronian frame (G1 Jazz repaint), which is on the slab next to him and looks like it has been through an autopsy. Ricochet doesn't seem to notice, he's still a little disoriented.

RICOCHET
(DAZED AND CONFUSED)
Huh? Oh, i...it's Ricochet.

SPIKE (O.P.)
It looks like the identity transfer was a success...for once.

WHEELJACK (O.P.)
Hey, don't look at me Spike. These frames are human technology, made from Earth materials, and powered by an Earth fuel source. I just follow the directions drawn up by your species .


PANEL 6

View from over Ricochet's shoulder of Prowl and Spike standing before him. Prowl is approaching him, looking less than pleased. Wheeljack is in front of and to the side of Ricochet, looking him over in a sort of post-op inspection.

RICOCHET
(CONFUSED)
Wha...What are you guys talking about?

PROWL
There have been some issues in accurately transferring identity information into these new Alternator frames. A few name glitches here and there, but that's not what you need to worry about now.

Side view of an angry Prowl giving Ricochet the business. Spike and Wheeljack, the only other occupants in the infirmary, are a little taken aback by the heated lecture.

PROWL
(ANGRY)
No, right now you need to convince me not to toss you in the brig! According to Bumblebee, you've been AWOL for weeks...

RICOCHET
Yeah, but...

PROWL
(ANGRY)
And now you've apparently stolen a Decepticon ship and thought it would be a good idea to fly to an energon irradiated Earth in your Cybertronian frame!


PANEL 2

Close up of Ricochet's face, he is clearly annoyed.

PROWL (O.P.)
(EXASPERATED)
In fact, forget the brig. I should disable your limbs and lock you in a sanitarium!

RICOCHET
Are you done? 'Cause I've got something important to discuss.

PANEL 3

This panel streches the width of two panels (basically it will be panels 3 and 4 merged in the center of the page). A wide out of legions of Decepticons in formation at the Polyhex space port. Numerous transport ships are there as well. The bust of a smiling Megatron is superimposed in the panel as well, seemingly looking favorably on his troops.

GRIMLOCK (O.P.)
What mean, legions?

RICOCHET (O.P.)
I mean thousands of Decepticons amassed at the Polyhex spaceport, armed and ready to deploy on a moment's notice. - -

RICOCHET (O.P.)
- - Megatron knows that there are only a handful of Autobot Alternators defending Earth. The planet, and its energy resources, are easy pickings for a large scale Decepticon invasion, and before Prime could react with reinforcements, Megatron's foothold on Earth would be impossible to overcome. - -

RICOCHET (O.P.)
- - By the time I was able to safely slip out of Polyhex, the 'Con operative assigned to facilitate the invasion was ready to launch. So sorry for the breach in protocol, but there really wasn't time for me to report back to Bumblebee.


PANEL 4

Overhead view of Prowl, Grimlock, Meister and Ricochet seated at a round table.

PROWL
Megatron is well aware that both he and his legions would go into stasis lock within minutes of exposure to Earth's energon fields.

RICOCHET
(SARCASTICALLY)
Remember two seconds ago when I mentioned a 'Con setting out to facilitate the invasion? Now, for the last time, stop interrupting me. I'm trying to save the day here.


PANEL 5

Late afternoon, and Ricochet, Side Swipe and Sunstreaker are traveling down a highway in car modes. There are other cars on the road, but it's in a rural midwestern US area, so there's not that much traffic.

SIDE SWIPE
And you're certain that it won't be Shockblast, Ravage or the others?

RICOCHET
Absolutely.

SUNSTREAKER
How can you be so sure?

PANEL 1

The three Autobots are taking a turn off ramp. Up ahead of them on the new road is a large tunnel with a huge human military presence guarding it. Despite the military, cars seem to be entering the tunnel without a problem. But to the right of the tunnel there is a turn off with a Corvette, a WRX and a Jeep being thoroughly inspected by soldiers while their drivers are standing off to the side. Just above the tunnel there is a sign with the outlines of those three cars, along with a Viper, an RX8, Honda 3000, and any other Alternator model that I may have forgotten (excluding Prime, Rumble, Mirage and anyone else who hasn't come out yet).

RICOCHET
While in Polyhex I learned that Ravage has scouted all five of the energon wave generation towers in populated areas,---

RICOCHET
--the ones not guarded by entire battalions of armored vehicles, artillery and fighter jets; and determined that in his new form it would be impossible for him to breech the security.


PANEL 2

The three Autobots are at the turn off and have transformed to robot mode. Human soldiers and vehicles are approaching them with weapons drawn and other soldiers are rolling over scanning equipment. The vast majority of soldiers are focused on Sunstreaker and Ricochet, while they seem to be a bit more relaxed around Side Swipe.

SIDE SWIPE
Yeah, the fleshbags are good at keeping the 3-mile security radius secure. Any Alternators car model either stops to get scanned, or gets blasted to scrap.

SUNSTREAKER
(LOOKING AT RICOCHET)
I thought you spy-guys were supposed to discover info we don't already know.

RICOCHET
Sunstreaker, if I wanted any slag out of you I'd have squeezed your head.

SUNSTREAKER
Watch it femme. It'd take about 10 kliks for me to make a pair of slippers out of you.



PANEL 3


Sideswipe is finishing off his scan, having breezed through it; a computer screen in the foreground has an outline of Side Swipe and the words "SPARK SIGNATURE MATCH" on it. Sunstreaker and Ricochet are being heavily scrutinized in the background; Sunstreaker seems indifferent to his treatment at the hands of the humans, as though this sort of scrutiny is to be expected. Ricochet on the other hand seems confused and annoyed by how easily Side Swipe has it compared to he and Sunstreaker.


RICOCHET
(TO SIDE SWIPE)
Hey, why are we getting the third degree?

SIDE SWIPE
They don't know you, and Sunstreaker is just a paint job away from being Dead End.

SUNSTREAKER
Slaggin' body thief. At least the other 'Cons redesigned the heads when they swiped our frames.

SIDE SWIPE
Take it as a complement, Bro. Your pretty face, and not having to share thoughts with Motormaster ever again, are probably the only things keeping him from snuffing his own spark.


PANEL 4

Overhead view of the Autobots in car modes driving away from the check point and toward the road leading to the entrance to the tunnel. Among the many cars entering the tunnel ahead of them, there is a red Honda Civic.

SIDE SWIPE
So if it's not Shockblast's crew, or a 'Con made from an existing Alternator design, then I assume that the Decepticons have finally figured out how to duplicate the process.

RICOCHET
That's some damn fine figuring there, Captain Obvious.

SIDE SWIPE
Watch it, Ricochet. It might take me a couple kliks longer than Sunstreaker, but I can still make slippers out of your frame pretty easily.


PANEL 5

View from over and behind the three Autobot cars in the tunnel. The walls and roof of the tunnel are mounted with cannons, but end of the tunnel is not far ahead. The mouth opens to a bright, sunny day, revealing the base of an enormous structure in the distance. Just beyond the mouth of the tunnel is the red Civic leaping into the air, way to high for a human vehicle to ever do.

RICOCHET
You guys think you're hot slag with your hand-to-hand stuff, but in warfare that almost never comes up. Sabotage and marksmanship, that's what impacts wars.

SIDE SWIPE
I enjoy seeing those I take out far too much to employ sabotage, and despite what you may think, I'm one of the best marksmen we have.

SUNSTREAKER
I am the best marksman we have.

RICOCHET
Right. Just keep your optics lit for any suspicious looking cars. The saboteur could be any make or model.

SIDE SWIPE
I might be pulling this out of my exhaust port, but I'd guess it's a Civic!


PANEL 6

Civic transforms to Rumble, who is immediately firing on human soldiers and firing a grappling hook in his other hand upward toward the top of the energon field generation tower (unseen). In the background the three Autobot cars are emerging from the tunnel.

SFX
EXPLOSIONS AS RUMBLES ORDINANCE DESTROYS HUMAN POSITIONS

SFX
DISCHARGE NOISE AS THE HOOK AND LINE ARE SHOT FROM RUMBLE'S GRAPPLING HOOK

Shot of the Autobots having emerged from the tunnel and transformed, but are besieged by explosions impacting all around them, and Side Swipe is being thrown back as a big blast from above impacts his abdomen. Smaller shots are impacting against legs and other non-vital parts of Ricochet and Sunstreaker.

SFX
BLASTS AS SHOTS FROM ABOVE IMPACT THE GROUND AND THE AUTOBOTS

SIDE SWIPE
Ughn!

PANEL 2

Shockblast, Ravage and Decepticharge are on a hill overlooking the base of the energon field generation tower where the Autobots and Rumble are. There is smoke curling from their respective weapons, but they've stopped firing for the moment and seem to be congratulating themselves. Ravage is looking at Shockblast.

RAVAGE
You may lack the raw power of your previous form, Shockw...blast, but that was still most impressive.

SHOCKBLAST
It is all now up to your old comrade not to screw this up.


PANEL 3

Viewing from under and to the side of Rumble speeding skyward, his grappling hook pulling him toward the top of the tower. The top of the tower is protected from long-range attack by large metal slats, and waves of blue energon are flowing through the gaps between the slats.

RAVAGE (O.P.)
Do not worry, my friend. If Rumble can be counted on to do anything, it's destroying something.

RUMBLE
Crummy human technology. Can't fly, no piledrivers to topple this thing from the ground...


PANEL 4

Rumble reaching the top of the tower and pulling at one of the slats, which buckles, bends and starts coming apart with ease.

SFX
SLAT CRUNCHING AND TEARING

RUMBLE
But it is nice to finally be big and strong!


PANEL 5

Shot looking down and to the side at the downed Autobots. Sunstreaker is looking up at Rumble and clutching his pistol, Ricochet also has his pistol in hand and is staying low and sliding toward him, and Side Swipe is off to the side barely conscious an holding his shattered abdomen.

SUNSTREAKER
You OK bro?

SIDE SWIPE
Ughn.

SUNSTREAKER
Good to hear. Oh smelt, he's taking out the protective plating. Ricochet, keep the 'Cons busy while I pick off Rumble. I'll give you a hand with them once I'm done.



PANEL 6

Looking down on a semi-close-up of Ricochet having rolled over, now on his back, firing four shots upward (sort of at the reader).

SFX
KAPOW, KAPOW...KAPOW...KAPOW

RICOCHET
Right.

Similar view of the Decepticons on the hill as before, but Shockblast is taking a shot to the head and another shot blasting through his cannon-hand. PANEL 2

Ricochet has rolled back over so that he's lying next to Sunstreaker, he's pointing his weapon skyward but has not fired yet. Sunstreaker is firing repeatedly upward and is clearly frustrated.

SUNSTREAKER
Slag, that little exhaust nugget is way up there; this is a tough smeltin' shot!

RICOCHET
Watch and learn, pretty boy.


PANEL 3

View of Rumble looking down from his perch where he has torn away one of the large protective slats, a shot impacting against his forehead. Visible behind him (he's between the two slats that were to either side of the one he tore away, about three of his body lengths separates those unmolested slats) are numerous large energon crystals from Beast Wars hooked up to machinery designed to amplify and disperse the radiation given off by the crystals.

RUMBLE
You femmes couldn't hit...argh!


PANEL 4

View from the side and rear of Sunstreaker looking up at the now standing Ricochet. A little of Sunstreaker's face is visible, and he's got a stunned look on it. Ricochet is smiling down at him, and behind Ricochet is the tower, where a speck representing Rumble is plummeting.

RICOCHET
Don't feel too bad, Sunstreaker. After all, you can't beat the best. Now see to Side Swipe while I fill Prowl in on the day's events.


PANEL 5

Prowl exiting his quarters, Hound and Meister are in the hallway, on either side of the doorway waiting for him.

HOUND
So, how worried is the brass about the Decepticons' ability to manufacture unique Alternator frames?

PROWL
Worried enough to alter the deployment schedule.

MEISTER
But Trailbreaker's frame is nearly finished.

PROWL
The frame will be utilized, it just requires a few modifications. A larger spark chamber, a head redesign,---

I think a thread in the CGD would help bring in some artists/photographers. With this thread in the Fan Fiction forum, mostly writers would see this.

Also, I'd be up for anything, so if anyone has an idea thats need photography, just PM me or whatever.  

 

Well I'm a writer and I kindly ask for some visual art help for my fanfic "Cargo of the Mack". More precisely, for the Bayformers3 Megatron vs G1 Optimus Prime scene. (Can I have Megs's head as complete and not half missing, please? According to the story when he first transformed into the Mack he was healthy.)

 

Eh, I know y'all already said "no more writers," but if you happen to want me as a writer or co-writer for anything (preferably something 'Con-centric but I'm not picky), I'm in.

Edited to add: I always thought it would be really cool to write something collaborative where someone else writes the 'Bot side and I write the 'Con side. If anyone would like to do that I think it would be fun.
