For me probably Universe Silverbolt... god, I hate that purple mess of a toy, but I got it because I wanted the mold so bad... nothing bad for the mold, it was just a terrible choice of colors, and a moment of weakness for me.

I don't know that anybody who paid the full $10 for Armada Sideswipe can say with a straight face that they ever made a worse purchase...including myself.

Universe Treadshot is forgivable since we all know Magnus was the reason for the purchase. At least he kinda has a Dead End thing going on. Even Cybertron Runamuck has a head useful for kitbashing. Armada Sidesipe is an insult to the name, to Transformers as a whole, to toys in general, to...

Buying a prototype. I had no need for him, never really liked prototypes anyway and I knew I shouldn't even touch him. My rationale was that, since there was this unreleased prototype of Alternators sunstreaker, and they were going to turn him into Dead End, I better buy an unpainted prototype so I can paint my own.

...but, logic ruled out, and by the time the prototype arrived, I didn't want to repaint it at all. So...it sat for about 6 months, then I resold it. Paid around $100 to buy the thing, then sold it for $50 and ended up having to pay about $20 to ship it. So, uh...all in all, I spent (and did not earn back) $70 on something I bought because I was caught up in the hype of following the prototype fad.

    Never again.

RID Prime, Magnus, xbrawn, prowl, and sideburn. Waste of plastic. I gave them to St. Vincent's. And that was about 3 years ago, and they're still sitting on the shelves there.

    Universe Primal

I was drunk at Meijer at like 1am and it seemed like a really good idea... Then I woke up and saw a Purple Monkey Prime sitting on my couch. The beer goggles must have been friendly on his color palatte.

I was so pissed at myself because I wasted $20 I could have paid for an original on what I regard as a KO.

I bought a bunch of weak Armada and Energon toys too, but at least they were fun for the first 5 min I got to fiddle with the mold. So the curiosity factor offset the purchase price. Primal on the other hand...

    Wha huh?

You know what they say, one man's trash....

Mine would be U. Treadshot. Unavoidable, since I wanted the Magnus. Magnus more than made up for it, however.

Since most of my TF's are in boxes at my parents house, I can't really say which was my worst TF purchase since they've been boxed away for more than a year. Out of sight/out of mind and all that jazz.

But right now, off the top of my head I would say any of the Universe TF's. Not because they were bad molds or paint schemes (although some of them had horrid paint schemes), but because in general the plastic was worse than KO quality. Which is just shameful on Hasbro's part.

I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned "Machine Wars" -- that was the "Dark Ages" equivalent for TF toys: some of the cheapest and crappiest TF toys ever produced.

Well this will buck the trend.

Back in the day I bought 4 of the 5 Technobots from KB Toys ... I regretted the purchase for many many days, I left them in the package and didn't open them for quite a while. Then I woke up opened up them sons a bitches and enjoyed the heck out of em. Ah the ignorance of youth.

As far as recent purchases, Id have to put most of the Universe line in thet category, and I really should try and sell most of them ... except I won't get squat for them. Especially since the ones I want to keep are the only ones people will pay money for.

I also regret picking up several of the KOs, RID Megatron spring to mind.

worst toy? Armada Sideswipe...even my kid didn't want him...

worst purchase dollar wise? MIB complete metal Predaking. (the toys were awesome, but I paid too much. something like $650 (yeah, i musta been high or something, right?) Then, you guessed it, the rumur came up of the reissue within a few weeks. :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  so I tried to hurredly sell him on ebay hoping some one would get it up to close what I paid...final sale: $365 I just flushed a lot of cash into the toilet...of course I also bought the reissue (natrually) so add $150 to that and you get -$435 loss :cry  :cry  :cry

I've got a tie- Energon Kicker & Highwire, and the Street Speed minicon team from Cybertron.

The Kicker set because Highwire just blows so thoroughly he could effect weather patterns all by himself. The minicons because the joints are so terrible they fell apart every time I tried to move them. The sad thing is I got Backstop along with the Minicons, and Backstop is on the display shelf while the minis are in the basket in the closet.

On the contrary, the four larger toys are vastly superior to their European day-glo counterparts, despite being stripped of the gimmick. The basic cars/jets were kinda meh, but not terrible at the time, which, while I had warmed considerably to Beast Wars by then, I was excited at the prospect of the return of vehicle-based TFs.

Armada Smokescreen. I was partially influenced by the glowing review present on TFW2005, and the big gun. Now, looking back, I could have (and should have) done without him. Hell, pretty much the other Armada deluxes I bought (save for Hoist and Bendy Prime) I now regret: Cyclonus, Sideways (despite the incredibly cool gimmick), and Wheeljack (who, for the time, actually WAS a good figure, but is now unbearably mediocre).

Oh, and I was one of the first people to own a Unicron. From an online vendor...so take a slightly marked up original price, and add another $10 or so shipping. Imagine how I felt when the fucker was on sale for less than half his original price. :(

Superlink deluxe Grand Convoy. I've got the normal one, plakit one, Kabaya one (plus PVC and plastic Wing Convoy) and think the deluxe one's the worst. I only paid for $5 or so, but still.

It's in a plastic tub with other Super Link/Energon toys. In the bottom.

That would be my second worst purchase. I figured that, like Bendy Prime, that the deluxe version would have increased articulation, etcetc....man, was I wrong.
