This is actually one of my few ventures outside of Transformers and Gundams when it comes to toys.

Unfortunately his manliness has left him being in an odd scale compared to most other figures of his semi-high detailed type. In fact, there is no finite scale anywhere on his packaging. I'm not sure if he's 1/8 or 1/7 in human scale.

One of the figure's I've been interested in lately is the model kit Figurerise Kamen Rider Double. But it's a whole inch shorter from what TJOmega said in his review. Though, that sizing could be right. Snake's IRL height is 6'5", so he is fairly tall, and correct me if I'm wrong but *ahem* don't most Asians average at least a little shorter than Caucasians?

Also, from looking at a few pics... Is Jungle Fatigues Snake taller than Sneaking Suit Snake?

I don't really think he's in any set scale, however I don't think Snake is anywhere near 6'5. He's maybe 6'1 or 2 at the most, but I think he's just about 6 feet. 1/7 is probably the closest to a scale he fits in.

I believe Solid Snake is a little shorter than Big Boss, which could cause some confusion, but according to his wiki page Big Boss was 6'5" at the time of Snake Eater and probably not much different by the time Peace Walker takes place. Link

Really about the only thing I've ever found to be in scale with Play Arts Kai figures is other Play Arts Kai figures. So ... if you were to pick up a PAK Dante or Nero, for example, they'd size pretty nicely. Outside of those, though, yeah, the PAKs are almost too big to fit in with anything, while being juuuust too short to fit with 1/6 figures.

They're in an odd scale, to my mind. It's frustrating, because were they at the 12" mark it'd be easier to find accessories and such (particuarly for the MGS ones - it'd also be simple to get hold of generic army-fodder). It's led to me being really picky with the Play Arts I do buy, because the things they tend to look good with are themselves. It's a pity, because I love the figures I do have, but diorama work (my main interest at larger scales) is limited at best.

Anyone know what are they like in comparison to SIC's? Thats always been my main question concerning the size.

I just display him with my Figurerise Accel and Skull, scale seems to be fine to me or at least close enough.

Would it be possible for you get a picture of that? I'm a little picky when it comes to this sort of thing.

On that note, I probably should have added Double to my last HLJ order before I payed for it. The shipping is gonna be massive but it's the cheapest place I can find it.

In terms of size that looks pretty accurate. I'd feel comfortable saying Snake is 1/8 scale. Head is a little big, though I suppose that could be accurate to how the actual body suit and helmet fits the actor as opposed to the Figuarts way of handling things.

Thanks for posting the pic man.

Yeah, I recall reading somewhere that Big Boss is 1/8 scale. With regards to jungle attire version being taller than the sneaking suit version...I'm ashamed to admit that I never got the chance to open both figures before they were kept in storage.

Probably better off. It seems Jungle fatigues Snake's green paint is rather easy to scratch. I just posed it on the self, bent down on one knee holding his rifle next to his leg. Apparently when I picked him up the front sight scraped against his leg and left a white mark there. Figured this stuff would be too thick to have that happen so easily. :(

Heh. Could anyone recommend an extremely good paint I could brush over that with?

Whoa! Sorry to learnt about the paint problem! I guess when I open him up, I won't do any poses - just make him standing still.
