Next question. Why did SP cripple OP instead of just as easily killing OP? Was OP hoping SP would change his mnd? Was SP hoping OP would change his mind? Was this a Father and Son battle aka Star Wars?
I see it as Optimus was pleading for Sentinel to change, because if he didn't, Optimus knew he'd have to kill him. When Sentinel declined, Optimus' task was clear.
i did feel a bit of WTF? when i heard OP's voice say "please, no." maybe something like "sentinel, stop." or even "sentinel, no." would have worked better.
Haha yea he knew he would have to kill him dumbest post I ever read prime couldn't of killed him if he wanted to
Yeah, I really expected some sort of mid-fight change of heart from someone, possibly followed by a 2 vs. 1 fight. It's typically how these 3 way battles go when there is a former friend or a common enemy involved. That's a decent excuse. I've thought about it quite a bit since the final scene did make me feel odd as I left the theater. I may have convinced myself to feel differently the next time: Optimus isn't just mad at these 2 other Transformers. He feels ashamed that his choices let things get this bad. He was the one that this whole scheme was designed to trick and a lot of humans were destroyed. He decided going into this city that Megs and Sentinel were going to be killed. It's not so much revenge or anything personal at all. He's decided that it's his responsibility to clean up this mess and never let this sort of this happen again. And hey, if he's got to plead for mercy for another shot at some head smashing and face snatching, he's going for it. This still doesn't explain his imitation of a kite stuck in a tree...yet. That part has placed me on a temporary "neither" on the Jetwing vs. Ultimate toy purchase debate. If only there was a Prime that came with his kick-ass portable gun closet!
I know everyone says not to feed them, but... Way to keep it classy, Hines. "Couldn't of," huh? Try "Couldn't have." Try forming a sentence instead of whatever that was. Periods help. And the person you're insulting said "I see it as." That's a personal opinion. I'm not trying to be mean here, but your post is absolutely the dumbest thing I have read all week, perhaps even longer. Please try to have more respect for others and grammar than you do when texting your mother and demanding more Pokemon cards. (Spoiler! I WAS trying to be mean in that last part.) Apologies to everyone else for my rude rant.
Dumbest post? Not really. I completely disagree with you. The matter is clearly up for debate but Sentinel I believe at the beginning was getting his ass handed to him by Prime, then Sentinel screams for reinforcements and runs away off screen when the scene changes. I think you're forgetting how Sentinel only "won" after attempting to send every piece of crap onto the Autobots+Prime. I think one on one with no interference, Prime could kill Sentinel. I think Sentinel even lost his shield at one point? I can't remember that clearly.
I don't see how Optimus was strong enough to kill Megatron with one arm. Unless Megatron was still weak from his wounds he received from Optimus in ROTF.
Considering he had a (cheap-looking) replacement arm, and half of his face was still missing... Yeah. I'm pretty sure he was. Also, these aren't humans, so he could be that strong anyway and we wouldn't know.
telling me to have respect then u start talking like your a four year old. All I'm saying is that if u think prime was saying please to warn sp because he was going to get up and kill him is a pretty stupid thought or maybe we were watching a different film.I'm sorry everyone for my grammatical errors and by the way does anyone have that new charzard hologram my mommy won't get it for me.

Looks to me like most guys on here either weren't bothered by it or believe he was pleading Sentinel to reconsider his plan
I thought it was implied that Megatron was still weak from the events of ROTF. He appeared sluggish whenever he moved and his transformation in Africa was indicative of this. And I think he only had enough energy in him to score a few fatal hits on Sentinel, especially since he shot him from behind a few times to make it easier got himself.
Oh yeah, by Megatron doing that, it totally made up for essentially destroying their ENTIRE home planet with his little war, having a death match in Mission City, trying to destroy the entire Earth with his bad bosses sun harvesting gizmo, and blowing a hole right through Prime at point blank range specifically trying to kill him. For sure. Prime should have totally forgot about all that petty stuff and taken Megs out for an energon beer.
I think it was more than evident that he was pleading with Sentinel to stop what he was doing. The problem is, he was about to be killed and he was on the ground, so yes, it's going to look submissive. Prime has proven in the previous movies that he's more than willing to sacrifice his life to save Earth. In the first movie he pleaded for Sam to give him the Allspark, knowing full well it would kill him. In RotF, he essentially let himself be killed just so that Sam had time to run away. I don't think one act where he appears to be begging for his life should be so easily taken out of context, especially given the dialog he and Sentinel had shared earlier. Prime wanted Sentinel to see the error of his ways, and give him a chance to turn around. By killing Optimus, there would be no turning back for Sentinel, and there would be no one to stop him. Prime wasn't begging for Sentinel to spare his life for the sake of living. He was pleading with Sentinel to save his life so that there might be hope.
