I just wanted to know his motivations and where he came from. He just kinda showed up in Russia and they didn't really explain anything. I would've liked at least 1-2 lines between Shockwave and Megatron/Sentinel so that his character at least had some direction as opposed to just showing up and bringing chaos for no other reason except he's a decepticon.

I think Shockwave was used as a placeholder for advertising, being really just a filler character...
placeholder for Sentinel Prime (to not spoil the movie), so in the movie being Sentinel the main villain, Shockwave was... just a filler, I didn't even know if he had contact with Megatron or was just there as any other decepticon warrior and drones :/

he stood there and said "yes lord megatron" a lot.....thats something i suppose
if you play the game its explained where and why shockwave was on earth and why he doesn't speak "human" (even though its assumed he DID in the comic adaptation)

the one thing it DOESNT explain is why and where driller came from

Shockwave. T.T Announced as the big villain of the movie and he is just another Decepticon rank officer. :S Or at least tough guy. But i guess it ok, that way Sentinel's true "identity" will be a shock for the 1st time viewer. ;)

Shockwave was awesome in his small screen-time, sure, he could have been the main villain or something, but what he did was awesome.

The problem is that you guys consider Driller and Shockwave as separate entities, you must consider everything the Driller did as Shockwave's doing [after all, he commands The Driller and is always right next to him].

As a long time Shockwave fan I wish that he had Sentinel's role in the movie. That's what I was expecting but was let down. I loved his design, at least he was cool to look at the whole 90 seconds of screen time he had (if that lol). Once again Bay disappointed me with one of my all time favorite Decepticons. Other than that the movie rocked though.

Bay suckered me in again. For RotF pre watching the film I ran through my head just how evil and cunning The Fallen and his schemes would be ... I got jipped. For DotM and Shockwave I did the same ... and got jipped.

Shockwave was a smokescreen for the betrayal and SP being the main protagonist. But here's another jip ... why should I care about a betrayal from a character I'd barely got to know. Shockwave was the template for a great enemy, whether you know TF canon or not - he was criminally misused.

I also would have liked a conversation between Megatron and Shockwave.

    Megatron--"Shockwave"

    Shockwave--"What is your command, Megatron?""
