    1. Soundwave's vocoderless voice and height.
    2. The music is kind of laid back. is it still still Steve Jablonsky even who made the music for TF3?
    3. Megatron's death.
    4. Sentinel Prime being a villain. but i guess they needed him to become a villain to suit the purpose of the story but it could've been some other Autobot turncoat. this is not really a big deal, but i guess i just would prefer him to have been a good guy. but i do love his interactions with Megatron, specially on top of the building.
    5. Shockwave only showing up in a few scenes and lack of dialgoue.
    6. it tended to be so unnecessarily touchy-feely at times and the atmosphere for this movie is i guess way different from the previous two movies.
    7. the opening sequence of the Civil War on Cybertron could've been longer and could've been much more epic.
    8. Cybertron's design........ it was just just so, i dont know, underwhelming... looks like claustrophobic.. if you were to make me pick which version of Cybertron i liked the most, TF3's or War for Cybertron game, War for Cybertron's would win hands down.

otherwise, evertyhing flowed perfectly. at least this time the Cybertronians have more personality. i love how Brains say "We're not toys or machines. We are a genius robotic race only looking for a home". I love that line. repeat viewing is recommended and i will definitely get the DVD for it.

Optimus offing Megatron so damn fast was kind of a peeve. In the first movie he struggled to do anything to him and now he's like another one of the naked protoform Decepticon cannon fodder soldiers.

I still didn't mind it that much though.

yes, the killing of Megatron was just too fast and too easy. here is Optimus, mortally wounded, and Megatron just having killed Sentinel Prime who was owning Optimus, would I really believe that Optimus, just having lost one arm was going to kill Megatron that quick?

and speaking of Sam's gloves, another peeve was Starscream's death

both of these i didn't like per se... but they were just too easy, too fast.

also going back to Cybertron... Cybertron looks more like a gigantic space station than an actual planet. but the only thing that was done right with this version of Cybertron is that at least it is larger than Earth, although i kind of envision Cybertron to be as big as Jupiter or Saturn.

my only major complaints of the movie was that HORRIBLE jfk head....
    running length.
and shockwave not having more speaking lines. though if the game continuity is cannon it makes sense since shockwave shouldn't know any human language

-Shockwave was kinda wasted. They could have replaced him with any other Decepticon and it would have been the same. I got no vibe of cold logic from him, there was no indication that he was Megatron's second-in-command, trusted enough to run Cybertron, any of that. I'd have liked to see Shockwave saved for a sequel, maybe like the comics, where he brought Cybertron back to life and was running the show. If they replaced him and his worms with say, Bruticus, people would have jizzed.
-As in RotF, the travel times really bugged me. It takes a long time to travel from Washington to Chicago by helicopter (and I doubt the helicopter has that kind of range.) It tales a lot longer to get from Florida to Chicago by car, especially while stopping and picking up your buddies along the way.
-why did they need to attach the Xanthium to a space shuttle anyway?
-There was a lot of "selective secrecy" about the Transformers. They put their existence on the news, yet Simmons was treated like a conspiracy nut when he wrote a book about them.
-Man, Sentinel was a dick. But again, his character could just as easily been someone else, say, Grimlock.
-Couldn't we just get a Transformer to kill Sam's parents already?
-There would be some very serious adverse environmental effects from the celestial event that took place in Earth's orbit. See "the Endor apocalypse"

Hold the presses there... First off... Megatron DID NOT kill Sentinel... He just knocked him off his feet... sort of a quick KO. Optimus kills Sentinel. And while I do agree that it was WAY TOO FAST of a death for Megatron... We have to remember that Megatron was already in a weakened condition and extremely low on energon. Hence his face still in extreme disrepair and him constantly just sitting back... as though weakened and not wanting to be in the front of the fights.

I completely agree on this one... Sentinel killing Ironhide threw me through the roof. I was PISSED OFF!!!! Sentinel was such a Jerk!!! But... that's what we're supposed to feel I guess. Helps us to appreciate Sentinel's death all the more I guess. Besides... With Ironhide's weapons and fighting skills... he is the ONLY one that was on hand that could've given Sentinel a decent fight... So of course Sentinel knew he had to sucker punch Ironhide.

I would say yes and no here... The fact that he was sitting back in an alley to be left alone tells me he was already weakened... and then he used the last bit of what he really had left to try to take out Sentinel. That's why he tried to make a truce with Optimus... For his own self preservation.

Plus I also agree Shockwave was a little of a waste. Here is the Decepticon Badass enforcer not putting up much more of a fight against Optimus.

far too long, and starscream also had several options just as easy as "take the damn glove off."

The Megatron-Optimus fight was way too short. I'd like to think Megatron was caught off guard because Prime only had 1 arm and he was gloating about beating Sentinel.

yes i stand corrected... i forgot Megatron just knocked off Sentinel... sorry for that error.. still, Megatron stopped Sentinel from completely pawning Optimus. Sentinel cutting Optimus's arms off... i started anticipating if Sentinel would grab Optimus's sliced arm and then smash his head with his own arm like what Optimus did with Starscream. but the whole thing was just done too easy, too fast.

so you have an Optimus getting pawned by Sentinel. Megatron knocks off Sentinel, which was still believable. but thats where my suspension of disbelief ends when Optimus manages to take out that guy who owned the guy who cut Optimus's arm off and almost owned him. if this scene was their answer to 'Revenge of the Fallen's' Forest Fight, they just failed. sorry.

another peeve: what happened to Ratchet? did he become mute or something? i guess he did manage to creep in a short word or two but other than that, he was almost absent from the entire movie.

kudos to Michael Bay for at least taking away the potty humor and attempting to make a good, serious Transformers film with DOTM.

but, all in all, Dark of the Moon was kind of a let down for me, but not completely. i dont know if it is the atmosphere, or the music, or the pacing, or parts that were not well thought out (come on, at least give Ironhide the dignity of giving a fight before getting offed, it wasn't like he is a minor character..)... i also noticed the music was not as good as the first two, although it tried to be different this time. it's just that most, if not all, of the music in this movie sounds so unnecessarily dramatic and melancholic... what were they gunning for anyway with the music they did for this? sounds like Pearl Harbor-ish... absent was the kind of music we heard from Revenge of the Fallen's Forest Battle which was memorable and resonating.

as i said, i will still get the DVD when it comes out to complete my collection of Bay's Transformers trilogy.

but with Dark of the Moon, i'm pretty convinced that a reboot is in order.

my final grade for Bay's Transformers trilogy: B- (although a really thin line from crossing into C territory. the only thing going for it is because i am a Transformers fan).

I COMPLETELY agree with you on this one. I absolutely love Ratchet. He is such a great character. They really left him somewhat sidelined here (at least on saying anything). However I will say this about him... It was very cool to see that he is often the one and only at Optimus' side. A nice throwback to their friendship and their relationship in TF Prime.

yes. i noticed that as well. it could've been good if he had some lines and dialogue with Optimus. i don't think they were even conversing when he and Optimus got on the Moon and the Sentinel's ship.
