Fun homage thought the chunk that is now missing from Cybertron after the bridge closed again, wouldnt that left the rest looking like G1 Cybertron, kinda partially messed up? lol But I must say it was one hell of a ride!

Just got back from the movie... Wow... That was nuts.
The ending was a little more abrupt than I would have liked, Shocky appearing twice in the last 15 minutes only to die both times was strange. Those are my two major gripes I think. My one major good point though was SP being the villain! I never saw it coming at all. That was an awesome plot twist that carried through very well. 7/10

if Bay had released the film when intended(7th July) instead of bringing it 4ward, then some of your flaws with the film could've been addressed! Also, strange how it's main human character (Shia) hasn't been in any other movies of l8! apart from Eagle Eye & Indiana Jones. + The whole bringing an alien planet close to the earth has been done B4, TWICE! in Dr Who with Galifrey & also in the final ep of The Event. Bay has just rolled that concept out on a much grander scale that is all.

Uh, G1 did the whole bringing Cybertron to Earth twice. The first time they did it was "The Ultimate Doom" three parter which aired in I think '85, which is what DOTM takes influence from.

    DOTM is ok

I like Transformers 2007. Somehow I did not feel excited at the third one.

It was nice to see some nods to previouus TF movies in this one: Scalpels all around and Barricade being a total badass in the end.

But I have an issue with the ending. I believe neither Sentinel and Megatron should have been killed. Only if Carly had said something elkse to Megatron, to make him realize he should redeem himself, and Sentinel too (especially him, given he wasn't fighting really against Autobots, but against the destruction of his planet and race).

Also, the only two other issues left: The ending (actual ending), shouldn't have happenned there on the bridge after the battle, I'd have prefered a 2 Week Later and Optimus fix'd and shiny. And Soundwave should have gotten more screentime, some more lines and put up a more decent fight.

But overall, the movie was great and I enjoyed a lot. Thanks Michael for this movie.

At all the movie was awesome, it was like a real G1 episode for me. I've really enjoyed it.
VFX and 3D was also awesome, cybetron's and the con ship's design was cool. The first few minutes were very impressive. Some notes as a decepticon fan:

I've missed longer scenses with the decepticons. Especially with the main decepticon characters. Soundwave was very small compared to G1, was a bit wierd for me, and he should shoot BBee in the head, he had a very long time to do that, but no..... had to wait for a ship to fall down and make a mess. sigh.

Starscream had really nice scenes, but how he died was just a joke.

Megatron, leader of the decepticons, the stronges, the cruelest decepticon.... was like a homeless in the movie. When he was sitting in the alley, waiting for cybetron, that scene was a big disappointment.

Shockwave should have much much more screentime, and at least kill some autobots.

Laserbeak was awesome. Dreads also. The highway scene looked very very cool.

I've seen a lot of its a lot like G1 references on here and I agree...and thats what kinda made this movie a disappointment to me. I kept thinking I've seen this before thirty years ago and it was handled better in "the ultimate doom and "megatrons master plan."

I think Shockwaves presence was simply to sell toys - would have been better IMO if they had given Shockwaves parts to Megatron and/or Soundwave.

It would have given both of these characters more screen time - and not introduced yet another supposedly bad-ass character that was largely incidental to the story and was taken down so easily.

Shockwave is not all that great if you go by cartoon only. He does less in the cartoon then in the DOTM. Now his comic version si another thing.

In this continuity (assuming we take the prequel comics as canon) - shockwave was established not as the scheming uber-intellegent being he was in G1 - but rather - the ultimate autobot slayer.

Shame his on screen performance didnt live up to this.

It would have been easy to keep some of the autobot characters from ROTF (twins, fembots etc) and simply use them as fodder for Shockwave.

You can't be saying he had more to do in the.movie than in the cartoon? He ran cybertron in the cartoon and spoke more than three lines last.time I watched

I still don't get why people compare Apples to Oranges. A 2h 30 minutes movie can never be compared to a cartoon with at least 30 episodes (and Transformers G1 has much more than that)

I thought it dragged on and the ending was lacklustre.

But hey, I'm not a Transformers hardcore fan so maybe it just wasnt for me.
