Well, the 'cons were close to taking over the humans and the one behind that whole plan was Sentinel. So, that clearly pissed him off. I mean, why would someone who goes for peace and freedom stay calm when $%#T's goin' down? When it comes to situations like this, I say "%$#&ing blow up everything that moves!"

Prime is a heartless murderer in the films

I agree with everyone about Prime, he was royally pissed off. Ironhide told everyone at the start that he has seen Prime pissed off but this was something new. The scene when he flies in and kills all those Decepticons was shown all the time but I still loved it. You finally got the context, he was pissed off and those Cons were going down. I was rooting for Prime during that whole gauntlet run. I don't agree with how he dealt with Megatron. Megs saved Prime from certain death then he rips Megatron's head off? Maybe if it had been a longer fight it would have been justified but that was cold Optimus.

 

Oh he was real mad. I loved the line. Prime is nothing short of a bad-ass, face taking, kill first, ask questions later autobot leader. Fantastic.

The words themselves were fine with me. He was pissed and we know how movie Prime can be.

What was odd was Optimus pleading with Sentinel while he's being thrashed and dismembered, but when the tables are turned moments later, he kills the shit out of an enemy who isn't attacking him and just kind of saved him, then shoots the hell out of the defeated Sentinel.

To be fair, that's what he said he was going to do. He must have saw the '86 film and learned what happens when you show mercy.

 

I demand a thread dedicated to all of Optimus' "courageous" sayings throughout the movie-verse!

 

It was the best line in the movie. If you don't think so, you obviously missed all of the previous scenes where the Decepticons were laying waste to any human that they saw in the streets. I'm not Prime, but I wanted to kill them all as well. Best Optimus Prime ever.

I got serious nerdgasms when he said that. His whole spiel before they planned on taking back Chicago was too much for me to handle, in terms of sheer awesomeness.

 

Prime speaks the truth. When Prime says something he means it... and look at what happened to the Decepticons!

 

Between Ironhide getting killed, Sentinel's betrayal, and the Decepticon's trashing of Chicago and it's population, it was justified IMO.

 

I loved that line. Hell, it ain't like there was any talking it out at that point.

 

well, this optimus is somehow violent when he must make justice (and he likes it), just imagine that... while being deceived (Sentinel as traitor) and under heavy pressure (trying to stop all the chaos)  
man, I LOVE this violent prime

 

It seemed a bit coarse for Optimus Prime, not that I disagree with his sentiment given the circumstances. Seems more like an Ironhide way to say it; then again maybe he was channeling his old friend for a moment.
