A great movie with a so so ending. I can see Optimus being an executioner, after Ironhide's death by betrayal, and the whole Bot group sent off earth/exile with near death experience, yeah that's more than upsetting. But Optimus begging for life from SP, then turn around killing both SP and Megs in 3 seconds, that reminds me of Starscream,I mean acting like a typical CON.

 

Ehh, movie could have been worse. I like it enough as is.

You're really overblowing that. He does say "please" as he reaches up to Sentinel, but it's hardly begging and could just as easily be seen as "please... stop siding with the a-holes to destroy Earth".

I didnt think Sentinel begging for his life seemed out of character.
He shot Ironhide in the back, he then tried to run away, he spent most of the city fight running away and calling for reinforcements. Sentinel was a coward and he died like a coward.

As for changes for the DVD, Im thinking all we might get are a few extended human scenes and maybe some storyboards for an alternate ending closer to the novel.

 

Only thing I would want bay to change is get rid of that extra scene during the end credits. Stupid scene. Out of everything he could have given us we get that. Could have shown us cybertron half destroyed in space with the drone decepticons from everywhere on earth heading back there to rebuild.

bay has final cut approval, that's why you don't see directors cuts of his movies, this is what he wanted DOTM to be, it wont change

It should have ended like the book. They actually have a truce because optimus knows that if he killed Megs then he would be as bad as he was.

I would like to see the scenes for Skids and Mudflap that were cut, I'm sure there was CGI work done already, Bay cut them so nobody would talk out how the movie was racist again, Since every movie that has been released on DVD, when has Bay ever done a extended edition? Never, we can't even get the transformers 1 movie with the extra scenes

 

I think these movies are just a big middle finger from bay to the fans. I dont understand why Spielberg would even choose him to direct, with the apparant disdain Bay has. This isnt some movie that Bay is "Creating", like the Rock or the Island. This is transformers. All of characters and personalities are already there. All of the storylines are already there. (and i dont mean just G1). It is obvious Bay didnt listen to anything ANYONE said about ROTF. I dont understand who screentests these movies. Anyone watching would be like Shockwave is wasted, Soundwave is wasted, Megatron is wasted, too many unrelated and unnecessary scenes and characters. The guy cannot carry one tone from one movie to the next, much less one scene to the next. The movie actually shows that whole action scenes were cut out. What is the excuse now? Not a writer's strike, not a budget, and not previous experience being absent from the franchise. I think the way Bay ended DOTM was an insult as well. Its as if he knows anyone who came in after him and approached the material the way Marvel does with their movies would show him up, like Optimus with one arm.

But in Bay fashion, the joke is on us, he's already got our money.

No, Dino is probably a better choice. Mirage is considered a girl's name. When I heard about an autobot named Mirage, I thought it was going to be a female autobot. That's probably the reason they changed it. Good choice if you ask me.
