Well, yeah - Optimus is angry. Why wouldn't he be? And why in the hell would he let him live after that? To what, do it again? This isn't G1 where the villain gets to retreat into the sunset to fight another day.

And this is how I would sum up the novel version of the ending:

    Megs: Whassup?

    Optimus: Whassup.

*Megatron scratches his head and looks around*

Optimus: You know bro, it's kinda shitty and all that you tried to kill all of us and enslave the human race with Sentinel.

    Megs: Yeah, my bad.

Optimus: You know what? Just go back to Cybertron with your party buddies and stay out of trouble, okay?

Optimus and Megs (together, patting each other on the back): LOL

    Ok, I absolutely loved it!

There were a few G1 inspired things I noticed in there: Megatron sitting in Lincoln Memorial seat, Using the space bridge to bring Cybertron to Earth, Wheeljack/Que making weapons that he proclaims and hands one to Ironhide(who doesn't seem to sure).

If you pay attention during the credits, they DO name Wheeljack in there. Under voice actors it labels it as Que/Wheeljack, so, that is enough to make me happy for the moment.

Wreckers were cool. They didn't seem to "redneck" to me, so hopefully, there won't be too many complaints.

I was rather shocked to see them kill Ironhide, as well as have Sentinal turn to be the bad guy the whole time. But, was happy to see they didn't kill of Sideswipe.

I am not completely convinced that Wheelie and Brains are dead. The ship crashes, doesn't blow up. Just another case of "what happened to them".

In the beginning when Shockwave rises out of the driller, I was kinda confused that he just rises out, scene cuts to Prime and the driller and Shockwave are gone. Why would he stop the driller, and pop out to just say Optimus' name? Boggled me.

Carly's character was great. However, I find it funny how they don't go into any other detail about Mikaela just dumping Sam. Needless to say, it makes most of that talk in ROTF about how much they care for eachother, sound pointless. I'd rather them say what I was predicting: "We said I love you and forced it to mean nothing", or "She had options".

The comedy was good. I kept laughing at Ken the whole time. Plus John Malkovich...was great! Especially the Bumblebee scene.

All the named cons they killed off, sure give it less hopes of a potential 4 (in this storyline).

Overall, I definately give it at least a 9/10.

I liked everything but the deep wang guy. My new fav characters are brain, wheelie, and igor. I really really felt bad for ironhide and q. Barricade was cool to see again.

The lack of any substantive discussion about his previous relationship is kind a weak point in his story arc since it was built up so much in the first 2 films, but definitely not a movie killer for DOTM.

Thanks, it's appreciated. It could really fill out unsettled things too, since Prime would have to atone for his actions since Megatron wouldn't exactly be willing to help him. Also, they could use this opportunity to show Prime's remorse and - even possibly guilt - over the deaths of Ironhide and Jazz.

Yeah, it didn't kill the movie in any way. I just found it funny at how much anger they must of had towards Fox that they don't even mention more than "she dumped me", and didn't even use her name. Haha!

Was it just me, or did this movie had some really sad scenes
like when Bumblebee almost got executed by Soundwave, for one example off the top of my head.
But when Sentinel shot Ironhide in the back, that scene was the saddest one in this whole movie franchise

Not most, but a good part of it. I actually laughed when that happened.

So, no one had tea and mini sandwiches?

I'd be happy with a 'Whassup?' before Megatron's head rolled though.

I agree with you. I'm not sure how many times this happened to me (or at which scenes exactly), but I do remember getting teary-eyed from at least those two scenes.

Plenty of other times, I was staring and whispering "Oh my god..." in awe and shock at many other scenes.

I totally forgot to note about Simmons and Andy's character(was it Dutch?). Simmons was golden again! I can't help but laugh any time he goes crazy, plus his sidekick was just great.

Oh, is the new "give me your..." slogan gonna be "GIVE ME YOUR EYES!" Because they sure as hell focused on the eyes towards the end there, with Starscream and Barry.

Also, wasn't that Long Haul who scanned the garbage truck?

It did sort of look like him. But with the quickness of him scanning the truck and the low light of the DC night, it was tricky to see for sure.

Also, who was that Decepticon with the huge and long arms in Chicago? Anyone know who I'm referring to? (I think he was almost entirely seen from a distance.)

I made sure not to spoil anything for my g/f when we went, and after Ironhides death all bets were off on character survival.

When Bumblebee was about to be executed, I rubbed her arm for support, she really though he was about to die.

What a great movie. Blows the first two out of the water. Not a single scene felt needless, unlike ROTF which I felt lagged often. The only moment I ever felt drag was the glider scene. It felt like you could cut out a few of the shots and make it more fast-paced and action-y. The 3D was really great, and I'm glad I saw this as my first Real3D movie. I doubt I'll see many more in Real3D, but I'm glad I got the chance.

The characters were just great. Ironhide and Sideswipe were excellent. Loved their "Mexican Standoff" scene. Q was good, I liked that he was the mastermind behind most of the humans effective weaponry. I was bummed when he died, (everyone in my theatre gasped) but man, Soundwave was awesome. Such a sadistic monster, and he even got to use sonic weapons! I was afraid the headshot from the trailer was his end, but nope, he shrugged it off and was able to kinda beat up Bumblebee quite a bit before BB finally blew his head off. (everyopne in my theatre clapped, my theatre clapped at most of BB's heroics) Starscream was great. Oh God he's such a dweeb, he acts like somebody who found a mouse in their kitchen. I loved the instant before he died, he was all "Oh fuck this shi-BOOM!" Sentinel was perfect, and man Optimus putting himd own was satisfying. Speaking of, Ops is just as big a badass as one would expect. Peter Cullen voices him amazingly, and he's seriously one of my favourite Optimus'. Just such a great depiction. I'm glad he kept the Matrix, and that he still has it. The Wreckers were fucking great. I love McDormand's explanation for keeping them on the base. They remind me of the old Marvel Comics Wreckers. Their voices were great, I dunno who voiced Roadbuster but he was my fav. Laserbeak was another expertly portrayed character. thsi si now teh default portrayal of Laserbeak. No more bumb robot-bird that never talks and has no personality. We need this guy. He's as cruel and sadistic as Soundwave. When he turned into the pink BB to trick the girl I felt like I was in a scary-ass horror flick.

As for the humans, Sam and Carly stand out as great ones. I love that Carly convinces Megatron, since it's true, Sentinel was going to be boss unless Megs did something. Sam was kinda badass most of the last half, and angry Sam is hilarious. He's replaced his paranoia with near-violent outbursts, and for the better. Everyone cheered when he knocked Patrick Dempsy in the head with the cinder block. Ken Jeong's charatcer was hella funny. His humour was legitimate, however I was scared when I saw him take his pants off, but I breathed a sigh of relief when he just kept his papers there. (and laughed my fucking ass off when he stuck it under Sam's nose) plus he was awesome when he pulled the guns on laserbeak. Actually, there was a lot of gunplay. This is why Michael Bay should never change. Honestly, the creepiest performance was by that weird old chick that hung around with Patrick Dempsy and just watched as Soundwave and Laserbeak abducted Carly.

The theme song for the movie was great. Not Iridescent, but the score piece that played like four times. Such epic.

    So, yeah, epic movie.

Most? He dangled for maybe two minutes before the Wreckers cut him down. And then he was right back to fighting.
