By the time I saw this, I really hated the decepticons. So I felt it too

 

I would have said the same as Optimus Prime after I saw what the Decepticons and Sentinal Prime did. Had G1 Optimus Prime been in the same position he would have said that as well.

 

i think looking back on my post above, and back to this, you really do have a point, he had enough of everyone's shit. i dont think it seems so out of character now, because anyone in his position should be very pissed off and would probably have said the same thing

When I saw Q/Wheeljack die. I got a real lump in my throat. I wanted soundwave dead. If Prime saw all of this or at least understood that ironhide had been backstab and they were exterminating the humans like sport, I would have 0 tolerance, no question.

 

It worked perfectly. He'd had enough. There was no more room for diplomacy, which shouldn't have been a shocker since RotF anyway.

Fuck the cons. Kill them all.

 

The line fits him for all he's been through. Especially after they tried to kill the Autobots.

 

As the character Optimus Prime,no I don't think it fit at all.He could have said something alot less worse,something along the lines of "We're going to take them down!"

 

This is why I dislike Movie Prime. He is just far too violent. When I think of Optimus Prime, I think of a courageous leader, with a spark of gold.... Not a ruthless killer. I mean, I understand where people are comming from saying "He's sick of all this fighting and war", but the way he kills these 'Cons is just overkill, and far too stylish for this to be "Optimus Prime".

 

I prefer bayverse prime over all the rest, he gets shit done

 

Nah.....he had enough. He was betrayed by Sentinel. That crushed him....think about it..he was willling to surrender the Matrix to SP....AND SP TURNS to join the Cons in bringing Cybertron to Earth!

Was fine in context, but if he just said it anywhere it would've been weird, but he was unbelievably pissed off with the stase of Chicago. The Decepticons have done horrible shit, but not nearly to that level.

The Autobots were more than justified this movie. You cannot say seriously that if you'd witnessed what the 'Cons had done you wouldn't have said the same exact thing.

 

This is the most likely explanation imo

 

Well let's see, tf1: Prime gets his after burners handed to him by megatron. tf2: He gets friggin killled by megatron and is awakened only to see a complete decepticon takeover in Egypt. tf3: Humans lied to him about sentinel. Sentinel betrays his most loyal successor and kills prime's right hand man ironhide. Starscream blows up the xantum space shuttle and chicago is taken over and destroyed by decepticons. "We kill them all" isn't sounding too bad anymore. Prime is a warrior and a protector of evil.

 

I have no clue why people are getting their panties in a bunch about that line. It's war. Kill or be killed. BIG difference from cold blooded murder. I'm getting tired of hearing how Prime is a murderer when he is only doing what you do in a war.

Plus, It'S A FREAKIN MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey if you listen to the WTF@TFW podcasts and my fellow Canadian Vangelus, it's Movie Prime and he'll do whatever it takes to win the war. I like to call him "Murder Prime" and this line suits him fine. It's kind of funny how crazy Prime and Bee are in the movies it's kind of fun having them not be in "cartoon" character because I have the cartoons if I want to see those traits in them there. The movie quotes are something I can definitely laugh and smile at   Now "give me your face!"
