Carly all the way. She won me over. Not looks either. She seemed way more humble.

 

Carly, with flying colours. Her character was much better than Mikaela's anyway. Mikaela was a stuck up bitch, Carly was sweet and supportive of Sam. I actually believed the romance in this movie.

 

^^ this. carly/rosie was nothing more than some blow up doll to go save for a 1/4 of the movie. Her lines were bland and those that were supposed to evoke emotion from her, she didnt really deliver. I mean shes not as atrocious as the critics, but she still sucked as an ACTRESS. I guess as a counterpoint if she wasnt really given a role beyond to be some little helpless squishmuffin for sam whos there to adore sam, then i guess she cant really help it. but i still think she could have done a wayyy better job

And what makes you think Rosie wasn't doing the same thing? She was terrible in this movie. She stood there half the time looking pretty, she's a model so I come to expect that. Mikaela at least helped in the fights and wasn't afraid. People seem to think Mikaela was a bitch. She has different personality than Carly. She's more of tom boyish girl and Rosie is girly girl. I felt she wasn't right for Sam. Megan and Rosie's acting sucked but Rosie was far worst. She did do one thing that made me shocked. By calling Megatron a bitch. That was great but other than that she fell flat.

They should have just gone with Katie Cassidy. Would have been a lot better.

For the majority of the movie I felt as though Megan and Rosie were at a near tie; sure I missed the continuity that would have been nice should Fox have stayed, but I was cool with Rosie simply because she didn't bother me, she hit her lines and played her part as well as cool be expected.

That having been said, what offically pushed me off the fence and what sold me on her character was simply the fact that she had the brass to walk straight up to Megatron, no fear, no bs and tell him straight that if he just stood by and let Sentinal kill Optimus then he would be nothing more than Sentinal's bitch. How she delivered that line worked for me. Her character would have been desperate ( after all humanity was on the brink of mass enslavement) but she kept it together, I have to hand it to her, getting into Meg's head and appealing to his ego was damned clever, I didn't expect it, and least of all from her. Accordingly if she hadn't of done that Meg's would have kept chillin and Sentinal would have killed Optimus. She essentially was the reason why Meg's stepped in to save Optimus. So, indirectly, she was the one who saved Prime

As a side note I also liked the fact that they didn't bash on Fox's character, they could have easily slipped in some snide comments, but they chose not to. It felt like they only made as much mention of her as was needed plot wise and nothing more. Sure they had a few punch lines about it, but they were IMO directed more at Sam's character than hers.

I'm not drinking the kool-aid for all these excuses of why Rosie was supposedly better since they are near verbatim to what used to be said about Megan before Team Bay gave the thumbs up for all his minions to trash her. BOTH were given weak material to work with, but imo, Megan ultimately pulled it off better. Her acting still isn't anything to be applauded, but compared to lingerie model chicky over here, she's definitely better as far as what I've seen.

She didn't run around with her boobs bouncing while explosions went off. She was significant to the plot and didn't just follow Sam around trying to get him to tell her he loved her.

Edit: Yes, she was a damsel in distress, but that was actually something that drove the plot, and Sam's character.

 

and mikaela didnt drive sams charachter...she drove him to stand up to S7 to demand her juvie record gone? or maikaela didnt hotwire a truck and run BB around to shoot shit up?

the real question to me is megan fox's acting vs. rosie's

 

Mikaela ... since she rocks and doesn't just drive a boss's Mercedes.. I feel more secure with her..

 

Carly, no question. Whiteley did a great job IMO. If critics are considering her performance horrible, then there must be some kind of "Bad-Acting-Blocker" in her accent, because unlike Fox, it didn't sound completely fucking robotic.

See, I never cared for Fox since TF1. No Kool-Aid drinking either way here.

 

Carly was the reason why Sam went into Chicago when it was classified Ground Zero. Her shamelessly pampering him and babying him was one of the reasons why Sam felt useless and unimportant, which I felt was the best character arc for him in the whole trilogy. She served as bait that the Cons would use to get Sam to do their bidding.

And, I think it all comes down to personal preference. Some critics blasted her acting, some praised it. I thought she was fine. Better even. But I'd rather not get into that whole debate. That's what chojin and aredo are for.
