before the movie.. i had NO intentions of buying any of the figures.

i like the classics style ALOT better!

but hasbro did a GREAT job with the figures to match their movie appearances.
    i was pretty suprised!

im thinking i might end up buying a couple.

i think i at least want megatron for now. and then ill wait to see the other characters, like soundwave, dino, Q (wheeljack) and maybe leadfoot.
    i just love the wreckers!

oh and if they make brains! buy on sight! he was one of my favorites! hah

am i the only one that feels this way? thats had this change of opinion of the figures after seeing the movie

ooh hah so you saw the figures first and was like.. gotta have them??

i used to like the movie figures. from the first and second, but classics more. so more of my money goes to classics, and i didnt see the new dotm figures as being worth it. i figures it would be worth it for me to save the money id spend on dotm figs, and buy the classic ones i want

The movie help renew my love for Transformers. Right after watching the movie last night I went straight to Wal-Mart and picked up Topspin. Already had Megs and other Wrecker from before just to see.

The movie definitely makes me want to buy more for sure.

Bay didn't make me love any of the new characters, but he didn't make me hate them either. Will eventually want toys of Wheeljack and Dino, and Soundwave w/ earth mode. Oh and I want a leader Megatron even worse now. :)  As for what's on the shelf now? Meh.. Topspin and Roadbuster might be impulse buys in the future but screw the rest.

This was the whole point of the movie, eh? LOL, I find it interesting to have seen months of movie figure bashing from the "Classic" collectors only to now hear that just because you saw the movie you want the toys. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great, but haven't you been watching the trailers, lol?

Anyways, I will say this to you guys who love Classics and are getting into DOTM figures..... the quality of the plastic is definitely lower than usual and they are smaller than previous deluxe, voyager, scout, etc. Keep that in mind when getting them and lower your expectations. This is mainly an economic factor when Hasbro designed and produced these toys. As long as you go into it with that mindset, you will love them.

I, personally find them to be very enjoyable :D

yes, the movies will do that to me. I usually don't care too much for the toys at first. After seeing the movie, I want to get the characters . I have more control now as I am only limiting myself to on-screen characters.

The Cyberverse toys really are the best - we've got quite a few of them at the house.

I also picked up Starscream, Shockwave, and finally landed a Laserbeak yesterday. I don't see myself getting more. Depends on the toy, really.

Not as bad as a lot of people make out IMO. He's a good figure; nice transformation and fairly free articulation. I'm happy with it for now but would love a leader version (later to be released as a masterpiece like sentinel prime and ironhide!)

Other than a second hand rumor from Toy Fair, there's no evidence to indicate that Movie Masterpiece Ironhide and Sentinel Prime exist.

Takara released a Leader SP identical to the Hasbro version, and their "ULTIMATE" Ironhide, going by solicitation pictures, is identical to the Hasbro version.

Why would Takara release cheaper versions FIRST, then more expensive ones afterwards?

Odds are: Someone saw "Ultimate Ironhide" and got the wrong end of the stick.

I was on the fence about whether or not to get Sentinel Prime...though after the movie, I'm not so sure anymore.

When someone mentioned the Wreckers were going to be NASCAR hicks, I was turned off...and then they started talking. They may be my newest movie TF's in over 4 years...but only if they are HA, and armored.

I want Laserbeak badly (due to his awesomeness) and Sideswipe (I hate the paint deco but it;s not that bad besides he's goes a minor charecter overhaul, he got what Starscream got in ROTF. More screen time)
