1) Soundwave is in the movie longer than in ROTF. He has more scenes than Shockwave I believe
2) He speaks several times but not too many lines
3) Laserbeak was evil. He killed a lot in this movie and was creepy. He hunted down humans and actually killed them in cold blood. He was definitely the best villain besides Sentinel imo

 

loved every second of it. easily the best movie of the 3, loved that it was basically the movie version of the ultimate doom (with a little of heavy metal war)

 

This. Everything said here is exactly how I feel. This movie fucking ROCKED.

Too bad watching it on Blu-ray in 2D is going to SUCK compared to seeing it in IMAX 3D!  

Oh yeah, the Mexican standoff was fucking awesome!!!  

 

Yeah, shockwave being hyped as the main villain was garbage IMO. They didnt give him any background, any motivation, nothing. Dissapointing.

Q/wheeljack getting shot especially when he begged was sad.

I think every1 in the movie was crying when bumblebee was about to get shot even tho we knew he wouldnt.

Megatron went out like a ho but thats what happens when u survive 3 movies somehow i guess.

Rosie's acting wasnt AS bad as the critics say.

I would also like to add seeing all the scenes in Chicago on the big screen that i went to see them shoot was AWESOME. no wonder ironhide was like never used and just sitting on the side of the street during all the filming

 

Michael Bay did a great job with his last Transformers movie!

 

I saw it, I liked it. Sure there are somethings that are, meh. But I did like it. Much better then ROTF, much better. My first 3D too.

 

Also just got back from DotM. Overall, I loved it. Very intense, very fun, very nice close to the trilogy.

Pros:
Laserbeak: This was great, I loved his character.

The comedy: I thought the comedy was very well done, my girlfriend and I laughed hard!

The Deception: Sentinel's role, I thought, was a very nice twist. The inclusion of human-decepticon alliance was a welcomed theme for me. Soundwave popping up as Carly's car was a nice touch.

The Robot carnage: Wow, I never thought robot violence could be so bad-ass! Optimus tops himself from ROTF, Ironhides tragic death resonated with me, Starscream's brutal death, Soundwave's death, the Dreads, all of it was excellent, from an over-the-top level.

Rosie: Much better than I anticipated, great replacement for Fox.

The CGI: WOW, nuff' said.

Cons:
The film runs with too many nonsensical jump cuts. The cut to Optimus flying, the cut to the decepticon ships invading, the cut to the autobots on the moon, all too fast.

Shockwave and Soundwave: Shockwave indeed was VERY underutilized. His death also felt cheap, the only TF death I had an issue with. Soundwave runs along these lines as well, but he get points for being Carly's car, fooling Sam and Carly alike.

The bird men: Okay they can fly, I get that, but wow that scene was too long IMO.

Too little info: Why did megs choose a truck mode? Where did he get that bitchin shotgun? Why did Sentinel choose the firetruck alt? Not necessary details, but it would have been nice.

I guess more to come.

 

I loved it...I stayed away from these boards the last couple weeks so I wouldn't stumble on a spoiler...hated seeing Ironhide die. Sentinal turned out completely different than what I was expecting...being a turn coat like that...wow...I really expected Shockwave to be something way more...humor was, well, very very funny...8 out of 10

Laserbeak is a nitemare for humans. so freaky when he turns his head when disguise as pink bumblebee.

the dreads running on highway is so awesome.

Im shock and emotionally sad seeing ironhide death. give big impact this time they doesn't play around.

I...FUCKING...LOVE...THIS MOVIE!!! fuck the critics I piss on their faces!, this movie rocks, IT IS the best out of the 3, don't let the reviews fool you, it probably got a lower score because of the scar rotf left on them or because it's the third time around and wasn't the first of it's kind like TF1. The robots ACTUALLY have diaolgue and personalities that matter! Rosie IS better than megan but not by much to be honest but yes I do prefer her whatsoever and I like her she's cute unlike the whore fox was. THIS MOVIE RULES GO WATCH THIS SHIT IN 3D bay did it he fucking did it right this time, fuck the critics they don't know OUR characters that's why they dont GAF.

Yeah!!! You said it!! This movie was epic!!! Clearly the best of the three!! And all around one of the best movies I've seen in a long time!!

 

So I've had a little time to process my thoughts and here is what I thought about the movie..

The Bad:

Carly. Not that her acting was bad, it was just that she felt so out of place. Her role was basically just Mikaela with a few tweaked lines after Megan Fox left and I just couldn't feel connected to her after the second movie spent so much time building up the relationship of Sam and Mikaela only to have her break up with him just seemed like a cop out to me.

Ironhide's death was disappointing and I felt like Q and him should have switched places. I hated that he was not even mentioned after he died. I absolutely hated that b/c he was one of my favorites. I felt little emotion for Q when he died. I'm sorry but he just didnt do anything in the movie. They should have just kept the twins and had them executed or something.

Shockwave should have been developed more along with Q and Dino.

Wheelie and Brains basically just replaced the Twins, but I liked Wheelie better in this than in ROTF

The editing seemed rushed in different places like when bumblebee catches sam and lennox from falling and then is captured in the next scene? I felt like I had missed something in between or something was cut. (hoping for an extended version on bluray or something but doubt it)

Taking out the Twins with no explanation as to their disappearance and then introducing new characters only to have them killed off...just seemed like a waste

The Good:

Sentinel Prime was a backstabbing ass hole and I loved hating him b/c he killed my fav Ironhide. Glad Optimus killed that motherfucker

Optimus was so badass and the fight scenes were amazing

The freeway chase scene was one of the coolest scenes i've seen in a long time

The Wreckers were actually given more screen time and lines than I expected and I actually felt more for them than some of the other bots.

Dino was cool but still not used enough. Q was meh to me. I would have liked to have seen him more so that I could have felt more attached to him when he was executed b/c I know it was an emotional scene but...i'll need more time to think about this one...

Starscreams scenes were great and I just loved his banter. I was actually sad he was killed off.

Soundwave and Lazerbeak. Both very cruel and so awesome.

Having Barricade return

The ending was so epic

I really hope they make a part 4

 

The movie in my perspective it is amazing just outstanding acting,humor and action perfect movie

 

StarScream must be a tobacco chewer, cause he sure does spit alot.


Over all Im still on the fence on how i feel about this movie. Once again, a whole lotta nothin going on. A new character, and scenario is thrown at you almost every ten minutes.
a simplified story could've went a long way. I really enjoyed that chase scene, but completely forgot about it till someone mentioned it on the boards. that 40 minute action scene at the end, was just way too numbing.

I would've preferred if they shaved down that scene to 30 and given us some disposition between Prime ,Megs and Sentinel.

Oh yeah Freedom is the right... blah blah, my ass, Prime is a Sociopath.



PS.. Thank you bay for slowing down the fightscenes. Between that, and the spacial depth added to the robots from the 3D, you can really see whats going on.

Best Transformers film out of the 3. I loved it. Optimus is such a sadistic badass.

Highway scene with the dreads was amazing. Maybe my favorite part of the whole film.

 

The movie was ok. I think it was a bit over kill how prime turns around and offs megs after he had just helped him out. Also Laserbeake was the the most basass bot in the movie.
