I've been thinking, after looking at the picture of Optimus, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Ironhide, and Wheeljack, and the things on Ironhides back, im almost certain those are his Heavy Iron weapon things from the video game, and the Spoiler the gun we see Sideswipe kick to him is the Heavy Iron 2.0
Although it would be extremely unlikely, how freaking awesome would it be if all three dreads run up to Ironhide and his chest opens up to reveal his huge cannon like the leader class?
To be honest, I don't care what his guns are called. All I care about is seeing Ironhide load 'Cons up with so much lead they'd make a good radiation shield. That's all the character development he needs.
Final battle in Egypt during ROTF. When everyone runs from the airstrike, you can see Ironhide running with them. As he runs, you can see his cannons getting blown off his arms.
Ah, thought it was both. Either way, the basic point is the same. Between ROTF and DOTM Ironhide had his cannons replaced.
But he still seems to have them in the movie despite losing the left one in ROTF. That makes it 4 doesn't it?
Its not easy to tell if they're still on his arm despite their size because the ILM model cheats to store them.
