Most famous, not greatest. The Wilhelm Gustloff sank with the loss of an estimated 9400 people.

I am sure that paramount will throw tons of money at him to do more of them, at least I hope they do.

I'm not sad that this is the last bayformers movie at all. i HATE the designs and the movie based toys. and it isn't he, who brought transformers back into the limelight, it was the fact that there was a live action movie. anyone could have been in the same spot and it could generate the same result. i would have preferred a g1 style movie with updated cars. and before you say, that's what he did, you're wrong. bayformers look nothing like transformers. they are too 'busy', and poorly defined bodies with unrecognizable faces, and no color. all he needed to do was tighten up the body design, add G1 faces and color, and 90% of the movie issues would go away. Oh yeah, and he needs to learn to pan away so you can see the action. (we will not speak of the made up all spark cube thing, or the plot issues, or the skyfire mess)

Oh boy here's another one...I'm gonna try to get this across again and probably not succeed but, whatever, it amuses me to try.

tl:dr Just because it's your opinion doesn't automatically make it the right opinion.

No one has to justify their opinions to you, just as you don't have to justify yours to others. Every one of you that takes the time to make a post about how sick you are of reading posts with opinions different from yours needs to grow up and realize that we each live in a universe of our own with ourselves at the center. Just because you feel one way about a subjective issue and someone else feels another doesn't make either of you right or wrong.

I realize we have a lot of young-ish(in age and maturity) people in this fandom so I realize this concept may be hard to grasp sometimes, but I'd like everyone to think before they post. Ask yourself if you are making a post solely to show how right you are and how wrong everyone else MUST be because they don't agree with you on a topic that can only ever have a subjective interpretation(ie no one is attacking anyone over how much money they think the films made because that is a topic with objectively verifiable evidence...the complete opposite of a subjective opinion).

It doesn't matter if you don't understand someone's reasons for having the opinion they do. It doesn't matter if someone's opinion is in the minority. It does matter if all you have to say on a topic is dismissive things about others' opinions. The best course of action is to state your opinion and maybe your reasons for coming to that opinion and leave it at that. I know the internet can make it hard not to wave your opinions around like the universe will surely stop and recognize how right you are, but it won't because in the end no one cares what you think about some movie. It's fun to read, but beyond that it is insignificant.

Let's take a break to read some Shakespeare:

"Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

What does the above mean? To me, it means calm the fuck down and realize how intrinsically worthless you and your opinions are and go from there. It will help you rage less and laugh more at the absurdity of this chaotic universe we exist in. And we could all use as many laughs as possible in this life amirite?

you know, i love Beast Wars more than just about anything, but BW and the movie series are just nowhere close to each other in popularity with a general audience... these movies are WAY bigger than ANY TF series before...

you know what i don't get is why everyone seems to blame Bay for the designs. did he create the models, show them to Hasbro and say make this? DOUBTFUL. ILM and Hasbro seemed to have an idea of what they wanted and worked together to create something that they liked.

I think the way it works is that the studio and director decide on the looks. Hasbro is not as high up in that chain, they just decide what they want to make toys of. Gotta love licensing!

But the 'store plagued by Bayformers' is a fucking stupid argument. Yes, I just dropped the f-bomb, that's how silly it is. Ever since the first movie, we have been given alternating Movie designs and Classic designs, yet people are constantly crying Movie toys are destroying the Classics line.

FACT (yes, fact): Classics have never been doing better, even if the later waves are not released because retailers currently want Movie toys.

I don't get the attitude of some fans out there. Oh, so you don't like a certain line of products..guess that means nobody should. If you can't stand seeing Movie toys on the shelves, stop visitng the damn toy store and come back when the next post-Movie line hits. Those Movie toys are not going to magically disappear when you keep checking back on them every three days.

As for the actual topic: Michael Bay, thanks for three live action Transformers movies. Loved the first on despite some flaws, hated the second one, and I'm just hoping I will like the third one again - judging from reactions so far, it seems like I might. But whatever my opinion of the movie is, the guy and the people around him worked hard on this for years, and I don't care who or what is responsible for it, but the Transformers brand is in a really good shape right now because of it. So thanks!

I do think 3 is enough, I like my trilogies - I'd love to see another interpretation of the brand in the future. :)

How exactly did he kill Transformers? They still make Classic/Universe toys, the cartoons are on DVD, there have been several recent TV shows.

If you don't like the films then don't watch them, there is plenty of other Transformers toys and shows to collect and watch instead.

Yeah, all of these lines and new TV show most likely wouldn't have happened without the movies bringing in the money.

I just can't understand why fans object so much to the movies and say they raped their childhood. The old cartoons haven't changed at all because of the movies, so what's the problem?

Exactly. Also, G1/Classics themed merchandise has also seen a boost now that Transformers is back on the map of the general public. The movies are not hindering or raping the 'old' series in any way.

This is just a new entry in a long list of entries in the Transformers brand. with strong and weak points. Hasbro and Takara have been doing the same with Beast Wars/Machines, RiD, A/E/C and Animated, so I don't get why people just can't get over it.

    Like the movieverse? Enjoy it.
Dislike the movieverse? Just accept it, go look for a Transformers iteration you WILL like and enjoy that instead! The good thing about TF is that we have a pretty good collection of robot cartoons, toys, comics and films, each with their own look and style. :)

I understand the initial disappointment if the original movie and the universe it presents were not what you want, but if you're still spitting your venom over the movieverse after the third movie, for shit reasons such as 'Bay raped my franchise' you just need to knock it off - you're just bitching for the sake of bitching.

yeah... 1.545 billion dollars from the first 2 movies, with a 3rd launching in a day, who knows how much from toy lines and other merchandise... Transformers is definitely dead...

Early WWII Zeros lacked the green camuflage from what I was told once. The green ones was only used in later stages of the war.
