Really, we shouldn't be making a fuss over one idiot's review. Every movie is going to get a few reviews of people overreacting to little things and being a nitpicky douche. Remember TS3?
Another 3/5...another review saying the childish humor is too much. *sigh* why Bay why? The Hangover with Transformers? WTF is this? I'm guessing Wheelie and Brains get a bulk of screentime in the beginning
I posted to his blog How are soldiers in wing suits swooping down from a building to attack robots the same as people jumping to their death from a terrorist attack that happened 10 years ago? If anyone is “insensitive” wouldn’t it be the pseudo-blogger that brings up a national tragedy when reviewing a movie about toys from the 80′s? I doubt you’ve even seen this movie because you are a typical parrot blogger that probably had a pre-existing hatred for Michael Bay because it’s the cool thing on the internet to hate him and his films. Let me guess, your favorite directors are Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese right? The usual safe choice directors because you afraid liking anything else will hurt your false-elitism. “while the more discerning of us look on in embarrassment”… as you pay to watch a movie about giant robots. You didnt even see this movie anyway, you didnt touch on a single thing that hasnt been in trailers and TV spots. Why dont you go and watch Inception so you can try to feel deep.
It's just a shame that they have so many great robot characters they can flesh out but instead waste the time on **** jokes and lame humor. Cut 10 minutes of lame humor and thats 10 more mins of starscream, shockwave, ratchet, etc. It's just annoying.
Good news! A member of our german Transformers board names "Skylynx" saw the film 1 or 2 days ago and his review is online. And he gives 9 of 10 points! He is a fan like the most members here. Read his complete review here (german, so use google translator): Starblight.de • Thema anzeigen - [Kritik] Transformers 3
I'm not even mad about what he said about TF. Oh its the same plot but bigger? See every incarnation of TF ever (and every Cameron sequel ever)... but that's why we're there, we're getting what we want to see and are having fun. If people don't get it or its not their thing in the first place that's cool. What irks me is the comment re-writing and also I'm just sick to death of how you can't do anything in a movie anymore without some one bitching. I mean, real racism, really taking a jibe at a tragedy where a lot of (or even a few) people/animals died, no matter its country of origin, yes, that should be condemned. But holy hell, diggin that stuff out of what is essentially a slapstick fun action movie from a kids cartoon that is often referred to as a giant commercial? Lighten up. ESPECIALLY when the most popular and major character OP, is ALL about freedom and ONLY fighting when you have too, always defending justice... meh... dumb haters... getting too me... shitting on everything... filling the world with negative crap for no reason... and then my brain explodes and I die a young and terribly tragic death because I just couldn't take the hate on an innocent movie full of pure good and fun... lol
Our country lost it balls a long time. Everyone is so obsessed with moral platforms and political correctness, its pathetic.
There seems to be this ultra PC wave of film criticism lately. I read some of the reviews of Bad Teacher and the critics get offended by anything. Pretty soon they will object to any violence or cussing period.
Hey guys, I'm the evil reviewer. Apologies for any upset caused. I actually positively reviewed the second film way back when, so have no predisposition towards your franchise. In fact, I really respect your commitment to something you genuinely love. I'm very passionate about film. I never mentioned Nolan or Scorsese, nor have I ever claimed to be "elitist". These were all labels attached by one of your posters. As Tom knows (we've entered in to private discussion via email) my favourite filmmakers are Jean-Luc Godard and Robert Bresson. I do like Scorsese a lot tho.
No shit. If "we" don't want to be reminded of 9/11, then why the hell does everyone say or used to say. "Never forget." or "We will always remember." I know so many people who don't even care anymore about 9/11.
