I'd say characters like Prime and Bumblebee were the Batman of the movies. Characters like Ironhide or Ratchet seem more like the sidekick because they aren't the main heroes but still not like anyone you would run into in real life.

The soldiers on the other hand seem like the Gotham PD they do brave things but they are still very much like the guys you'd find on a real life military base.

Nothing wrong with cops and there are plenty of nice cop movies and shows out there. But if I'm watch Batman I want to see the superhero stop the bad guys instead of the cops. The cops can stop the bad guys when a film doesn't have a superhero.

 

The second movie should have ended with Prime dead and all hope lost. Then the third would be about Prime's resurrection, as well as the events that occur during Dark of the Moon.

 

I think these transformers are actually made out of pottery that's covered with chrome paint.

 

I'm sick of Autobots dying like impotent pussies. Jazz sat there in vehicle mode for over half a battle, only to get shot and ripped in half. Arcee's introduction showed us her weaponry couldn't hurt a medium-small enemy, then a robot ten times the size of god surprises her and hits her with a full-sized missile while she shrieks and flails. Jetfire took one hit from a robot a quarter his size, and it nearly split him in half. The good guys need to die valiant deaths, not get beat like sick dogs.

 

Not all good guys can have the valiant heroic death. Someone like Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, and maybe a few others deserve to get the awesome bad-ass deaths. To show off how a REAL war is, not all have that "sacrifice, epic, battle changing" death. Some just get taken out randomly and surprisingly (Jazz for instance). Same for the Decepticons. Not all of them will be required to get teamed up on and taken down by a team effort. Some are weak and just get killed. Besides Jetfire didn't die from Scorponok's attack (although he probably would have eventually) he RIPPED out his own spark to help Optimus defeat The Fallen and save the world.

 

I'm sorry, I missed the part of the movie where the human military took down Megatron, Starscream, The Fallen, and Shockwave.

 

I'll give you that the military may not have been able to take out the Fallen. But judging from how those F-22s' missiles were spinning Megatron around like a top, I think it's probable that they would've been able to kill him without any Autobot assistance. Same goes for Starscream. Can't say anything about Shockwave, as I haven't seen the guy in action.

 

At the end of the film, the little pony toting girl from the first movie will arrive, and kick shockwave in the nuts, causing him to spontaniously explode ....... for no reason, then she will blow a rasberry at megatron, causing him to turn into a giant metal pony and fly to Jupiter. the end.

Kinetic force , no matter how bring and strong you are is still something that exists.

 

I think some films find a nice balance so that one side doesn't seem vastly superior than the other side.

Take a film like Aliens 2. The Alien warriors were all bad ass, the Marines were all bad ass. Even when one side or the other was taking the other guys out it never really felt like either side was any less bad ass. A real tooth and nail fight with each side slaughtering each other until the end.

 

Hardly since the Marines weren´t exactly bringing their heavy gear. According to the EU, they have tanks, rocket launchers, heavy guns and other sort of assorted weaponry, including armored powered suits that can wipe out colonies on their own.

Yes but the film makers were tricky enough to find a way to make it an even fight by taking out the long range options and heavy armor so there was tension all the way as to who would actually win.

I'm just happy to see Shockwave in the movie, dead or not. Many other Transformers have not appeared, mostly Autobots. Most of the Decepticons have appeared now, on acount of them always dying................
