Fed up with Decepticons dying too easily.

The job of the Seeker wasn't to really "encounter" them, just check to see if there was life in a solar system. If there was, "ok cool, bro, we'll leave ya alone then", then boosh, they space bridge onto another one. That's what I gathered from the concept of the movie Seekers, anyway.

Starscream massacred a squadron of Air Force fighters sent to intercept him, while receiving no damage in turn.

Ignoring the comics. Seeker is just a descriptor like Guardian. Seekers seek in this case the Matrix. They just happen to be the oldest Decepticons alive on account they serve the Fallen before Megatron and his troops joined.

I believe Jetfire did say he was originally supposed to find stars to harvest, but was eventually instructed to find the Matrix.

No that was the original Primes. Jetfire wasn't even there.

It does make you wonder how the Decepticons managed to wage war for so long if they can only endure a battle for about 30 seconds before getting knocked off.

It's been a while since I've seen the first movie. So in other words, Blackout was even more of a little prissy than Bonecrusher was. LOL!

I think that's more of an Autobot feat than a Decepticon flaw: You see, only around twelve Autobots survived the War all the way to Earth, don't you think they all are more badass than Chuck Norris at this point? They survived the EXTINCTION of the Autobots [to the point a army formed by millions is now formed by one dozen of dudes, some of them died], they are all elite teams of badass [well, except for the Twins].

Decepticons, on the other hand, are quantity over quality.

I never got a feel for just how many Autobots and how many Decepticons were left. Just one of those details that seem to be left out so that it would be easier for the writers to bring in more characters later on if they wanted to.

But lets say that your numbers are correct that the Autobots are outnumbered by a fairly good amount. With a war that has lasted for millions of years and raged to the almost extension of the planet it seems like the Autobots would have killed off all the easy to kill Decepticons long ago leaving only the most skilled fighters on that side as well.

Unless the Decepticons could somehow reproduce to bring in raw recruits to constantly replace their loses then the Decepticons should have been picking up some combat skills. Which is something that the films seem a little unclear on as well.

I guess it just seems weird that there should be any Decepticons left except for maybe Megatron and Starscream the way Prime and Bumblebee have been killing them off.

You just described the scene from the first TF movie.

When did the Cons in Animated went toe to toe with the human military? A handfull of jets doesn´t count.

A squadron of fighter jets is not "Earth´s military". I said it before, mankind could simply drown the Decetpicons in numbers if such was needed.

It's left vague, but Optimus implies they are very few [the first movie actually implies Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet, Optimus and Bumblebee are all of the Autobot remaining forces, thus why he sends a message to outer space in search for more].

The key point is that we don't know how many nameless Drones existed in the Decepticons army, they might have killed a shitload, but there might still be a lot more around there [considering the 'Cons gleefuly Clone their own troops? I bet my right arm that there's a shitload around there].

To be fair, there WERE badass, elite-trained Decepticons as well [Megatron, Starscream, Barricade, Blackout, Soundwave, even Demolishor was pretty badass], they just were less badass than the Autobots [but it was close].

We also need to count all the Autobot casualities we had.
    Confirmed Autobot deaths:
    - Jazz [killed by Megatron].
    - Jetfire [killed by Scorponok].
    - All of the Arcee Triplets [gunned down by some unspecified enemy forces, likely nameless mooks].

    Implied but not shown:
    - Jolt.
    - The Twins.

    Other:
    - Warpath.
    - Breakaway.
    - Air Raid.
    - Silverbolt.

So we have at worst FIVE Autobots dead, at best TWELVE Autobots dead, don't you think quite a few Autobots died here? It's not like only Decepticons died.

As I said, we don't know how Many Random Drones the Decepticon army has [cloning dudes, remember cloning].

Shockwave is killed by Optimus and the rest of the decepticons are killed by Wheelie.

The humans are to the Autobots as Robin is to Batman.

No one complains when Robin takes out the bad guys mooks when Batman takes on the named villains.

Scenes like that should have happened more often. But they didn't.

It's still a military presence of some sort.

While the TFA Cons getting swamped by waves of Earth's military units is a possibility, at least it'll take that much to defeat them, unlike in the Movie-verse. Also, I think can safely say the TFA Cons, as opposed to their Movie counterparts, would give the human hordes a very, very lively time before they get overwhelmed.

Except the way things are going in the Movie-verse, it would seem that the opposite is the case, with the Autobots occupying Robin's slot.

The humans should be analogous to the Gotham City Police Department. The role of Robin should go to the second-tier Autobots like Jolt and the Twins. Batman's role should be occupied by Optimus, Ironhide and the other main players.

Aombiedude: Pretty much. However, I think that many fans are too used to humans as helpless, hapless victims, which completely diminishes the human race in fictional depictions.

Rather than trying to elevate the Transformers by cutting down everyone else, why not make other characters awesome, and make the Transformers the pinnacle of awesome. Look at the NEST flight-suit soldiers versus Optimus. A squad of soldiers base-jumping in a wartorn city crawling with aerial obstacles and Decepticons is awesome - an airborne Optimus Prime versus a gigantic, tentacled, building-smashing monster from out of Cybertron's ancient past is even more awesome (don't you dare tell me you didn't think "Awesome!" when you saw the first trailer showing Optimus flying out to meet that thing).

Nachtsider: You're exaggerating on the Autobots' status as the sidekick. The military tried to take out the Fallen, only to get a telekinetic curb stomp. Optimus is the one who utterly annihilated two of the strongest Decepticons around.

As for you saying that the humans "should" be just a Gotham PD level, why should that be the only possibility? Why not mix things up and experiment, and see if something more awesome could work? While Optimus and the Autobot big guns would be the top slot, there is always room for variance in who gets the silver medal or the bronze.

That is correct. There´s no need to elevate the Transformers as awesome and cut down everyone else who´s not from Cybertron.

Then you need to rewatch the scene. Only one missile goes past him. Once the angle shifts to looking up Blackout's skirt, you see several explosions coming off of him before Lennox even fires.
