I'll go with the crowd that says that was brought back in Transformers by Mr.Bay: the last contact I had with the franchise was Armada, then I forgot about Transformers, if it weren't by Michael Bay, I wouldn't be right here to piss you all off with bad jokes and talk about how awesome Jetfire is.

The 2007 is actually my fourth favorite movie of all time [losing to: Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story 3 and The Lion King], you could feel that movie had a heart, had a soul, all the characters had personality and a core, it's like Steven Spielberg said on Michael Bay's video: Mr.Bay has an amazing skill to get the HEART of the characters on-screen, that's what I enjoy to see on the first movie.

The first movie to me is a modern SCI-FI classic because of sequences like these:

Seriously, those scenes are freaking beautiful! A simple "Summer blockbuster" wouldn't have all the depth and sensibility on these scenes!

The dialogue? Pure awesomeness.

In short: I absolutely worship the first TF movie.

 

Thank you for making the movie I fell in love with thank you for re building my childhood thank you for making me collect toys again thanks for making the best movie ever.....Transformers!

 

Thank you Michael Bay, for making Transformers one of my most beloved film/toy franchises ever. I will miss the excitement as I count down the days until the next one, but it was a good run.

For those, like myself, that love the movies, I think we're in for a fun treat next Wednesday. I'm looking forward to feeling like a giddy child again.

For those that hate the Michael Bay movies (and those who love them as well), these movies have done so much to push Transformers back into the spotlight and give birth to some of the best toys around inside of Generations and so forth...Transformers Prime too. These movies have been a blast, and I look forward to seeing where the future of the live action movies go from here.

 

Though I feel the 1st 2 movies weren't all that great (RotF still seems to make more sense to me BACKWARDS: form Devastator at beginning, Autobots -- & some Decepticons -- pick off the Combiner members throughout), I can't deny the robots looked good on screen, if strange, & that Bay gave Hasbro a massive influx of money to make Classics, Animated, & Prime.

I also can't deny that Transformers opened a door to allow Robotech & Voltron to revive w/ their own Live Action Movies (& new animated series), both I believe in planning before, but not able to get a budget until after TF1 (I just hope Toby doesn't screw Robotech up).

So I thank Bay for the money for new, better toys, better engineering, & opening the Doors to the anime I grew up w/ alongside TransFormers (G1) to be revived, mainstream as well.

 

I like all three of the films and never had a problem with them all. I appreciate Michael Bay and the cast and crew on their best works on the franchise

I was so depressed in the summer of 07. Something bad had happened to me that always saddened me. It wasn't until I saw this movie that I a reason to smile again and look forward to the future TF films. This movie made my summer and made me smile.

TF1: When watching this I was real happy to see our favorites such as Jazz, Ironhide, and Bumblebee. I really loved Jazz's appearance, though I was saddened at the end of the movie when he had to go. Seeing Optimus and hearing Peter's epic voice was phenominal. This movie introduced what was lost to a new generation. I could understand trying to make the movie as real as possible by revamping character designs and such.

TF2: It was fun getting to see this in theaters. Though didn't live up to the first one, but I still had fun with it. I loved the short lived new character additions, but like a few fans may have said: Those slots could have been used for characters we actually loved (Prowl, Wheeljack, etc. etc.). If you had more time, you'd probably have a better polished movie.

Although I never liked how Megatron always had monster growls like a Godzilla monster coming out of him in the movies. Same for the Decepticons. They could have gotten character instead of being the protoform drones they were on the battlefield. Otherwise it seemed more like Transformers vs. Terminator for me. Even though they had flaws, they were still fun movies. Movie 1 made me smile and forget my depression. Movie 2 made me get into collecting toys. I just want to say thank you Michael and everyone else who contributed to the project.

 

I have loved Michael Bay movies since I first saw Bad Boys. When I heard he was directing Transformers I was pumped. He exceeded those expectations. Sure people shit on the stupud humor and ROTF, but I love those movies and they brought me back to this world. Thank you Michael for everything you have done for Transformers.

 

Well when i was a younger kid lol. I was like 8 when Armada came around and to me car that turned into robots was very cool. Energon came around and I lost interest to all of the other cartoons and toys of that time frame. I occassionally watched Energon and Cybertron, but never cared. The movies came around and when I saw it I was blown away... I still remember me and my Dad talking about the film afterward. Then collecting started, doing online research, making stopmotions, joining the site, etc. that happended after the first film. I acknowledge their flaws, but still love both the first two and I'm sure I'll love the third.

 

I've got huge thanks for Michael Bay for bringing Transformers to the big screen. I'm also one of many that was brought into the franchise because of the film. Since watching the first movie i've escaped into the TF world and see how diverse and rich it is. If it wernt for the 2007 movie i wouldnt even be posting this thread. Obsessed over TF1 and ROTF despite their flaws, and i cant wait for DOTM! Ive actually become a fanboy, but a part of a community aswell.

So kudos to Mr Bay!

 

Bay has made TFs even bigger than they were in the 80s me thinks! Thanks to the first 2007 movie, my interest in TFs was re-ignited when it had been dwindling after the Energon and Cybertron series! So thank you for making TFs awesome and cool in a way they've never been before, Mr. Bay, and for pushing the franchise to new heights! *Raises glass.*

 

i was born in mid 90s. thus no g1 for me But i grew up with Nickelodeon and i never watched other channels thus i never saw Shows liek BW, BM and the Unicron trilogy thus Transformers was unknown to me....till 2007.....in 2007 while watching Many filsm the TF Film trailer showed up alot. i wasnt itnerested in it but my father was as he used to see g1 on the 80s, Then we saw the film along my bro someday in july and i LOVED IT! but at first i thought it was just gonig to be 1 film till i saw the Stasrcream Scene at the end. thus i Began to Be more often in the internet in 2007 and 2008 for news on a Sequel. while waiting i got aware of Animated at first i thought it was going to be a shwo for bayformers but then i was like wait this dosent have to do with bayformers it have different characters (i NEVER saw the show i only read of it) and ignored it. then ROTF was announced and i was EXCITED keeping up with the news, Reading spoilers Wathcing Set videos, Interviews, PREVIEWS ETC ETC ETC, and i began to buy toys more often, then after i saw rotf i LOVED IT and i Began for More news on a third film, i knew it awesome franchise (films) was going to end sooner or later that i was kinda shocked when i read that this was the last film. thus i realized In july 1 it would be the last time i would see transformers... but i knew it was going to end. everything have a beginning, middle and end.... due to this being the finale i Have not been Reading spoilers and watching the set videos often like i did with ROTF becuase i didnt wanted to ruin the end of bayformers. i hope DOTM is epic and Ends well

after july 1 no more tf watching for me, AS I will never see the shows they are not the same as Bayformers i Want to see a Full Legth Transformers Film and not a 30 Minutes TF Show....

Firstly, let me say how wonderful an idea this is to have made a thread for thanking the makers of the live-action Transformers films.

I've been a Transformers fan for as long as I can recall, since I was in my toddler age range.

Though I've been buying figures from almost every 'generation' or continuity, I admit that I've never loved the toys as much as I do the movie ones. Michael Bay's movie trilogy has rocketed my interest in Transformers to sky high proportions.

I could curse Bay for getting me more addicted to this 'plastic crack' with his movies' representations of the characters, but I should first thank him for showing me how one takes something that's completely fictional from a classic toyline and t.v. series that is loved by many, and bringing it into our reality.

Artistically, he's given me inspiration, and I really admire him some for that. Nostalgically, he's brought all my memories of cartoon action to the table and made it look real. I applaud and thank him for showing me something like that.

I am sad that this is the last transformers movie. I have been excited like a little boy all over again and I share the excitement with my children. I have watched the movies over and over again without getting bored. Every time I hear Prime speak with that very unique voice it almost brings me to tears. Thank you for bringing Peter Cullen to the franchise, and Thank you Mr. Cullen for voicing one of the greatest characters the world has seen. Without the original Prime voice, I think the movies would have not succeeded.

My best regards to you Michael, Mr Cullen and to all of you at ILM, Paramount, Spielberg and everyone else involved. Thank you, Thank you, Thank You.

I must agree. If it weren't for Michael Bay, we wouldn't have the different Transformers toys we all have today. We wouldn't be able to enjoy Steve Jablonsky's score from the 2007 movie or play with our Battle Blades Prime, etc. I wouldn't have known what Transformers were. About half of us probably wouldn't have joined TFW2005. Transformers probably wouldn't have been as successful. However, it is because of Michael Bay that the opposite has happened, and for that I must thank him sincerely. I've enjoyed the first 2 films and I know I will enjoy the third. With Bay gone, Transformers will not be the same. It will just be a TV show (until we get a reboot, hopefully) Thank you Michael Bay, Shia LaBeouf, Steven Spielberg, and the rest of the cast for the hardwork and effort they put towards making the franchise such a success. 

 

Any idea how google came about their popularity estimates for the 70's up to 90s?

 

When i first heard they were making a transformers movie i cracked up! I never had like transformers. ( no offense)   I thought transformers was for little kids even tho i just had turn A teen. Then I saw the trailers and thought boy was I wrong about this movie!
Like many I jumped on the wagon right after the first movie! I was so blown away with the plot,setting,CGI and everything in the movie. So then came ROTF. I freaking loved it! And I guess I will love DOTM! thank you MR.BAY and everyone who made this film possible.
