whoa bro.. I honestly thought for a second that the second picture of SP in the relaxed pose picture was a CGI render for a second. Awesome work David, simply awesome.
whoa. really nice work here. I take it axeman took the pics? I am blown away with the quality of the pics, everything is in focus, crisp and nice. i want to throw my camera in the toilet every time I shoot a custom, now I want to burn it, then throw it in the toilet. dave, I am inspired to get going on this character now.
... then throw away the toilet and burn the house! that's how F'n awesome this looks, best I've seen in my life YET!!
I think repaints are boring, but I looked at your second picture and I had to really eyeball the others because it looks exactly like a hi res CG model. I wish I had your presentation.
Lol!! I tried my best man!! Thanks a ton. It's funny how making a toy look CGI is a good thing! Thanks bro.. LOL... Yup, AXEMAN is the man behind the camera... I was the man behind the foamboard in the background..lol.. He has some GREAT skills.. and honestly, his eye and how to use the light to capture this guy amazed me! Not to mention having a camera that can capture the colors so well helps. But he can tell you more... My only regret is looking back at my old pictures and realizing just how lacking they are...no wonder I could never capture what they looked like! Looking forward to seeing more from you and others... as I am done with movie figs, except the S.P. I just bought for myself...and waiting on an Irionhide... and maybe a leader Shockwave if they come out... This guy is fun..and a pain to paint up... Thanks amigo! I think I will have Ravage review it! haha..thanks...and where did I come from.... I have been hiding in the bushes... well, that and the 3,000 posts suggest that this is my first time here.. LOL.... <---- literally just did! Yeah, the camera and the know how really help me capture this... Thanks my man... Thank you sir! That is what I go for!! p.s. Sentinel loves you Until the next one... But ins't this only the second S.P.? Yes!!! best out of two Thanks man..glad you like it. I say in my original post about the damage... aluminum, gray, silver, then a dash of white.....
I just noticed you put the details of how you paint this guy, that's really awesome of you. Thanks! This really helps for others who wants to try this method especially us amateurs. Again, you inspired me to keep doing customizing and I think I'll try this too, hopefully I can pull this off. P.S I just made your pic my new wallpaper. Lol
Yep, that was me running the camera. Thanks for all the kind words about the picture quality. I worked hard to get the lighting right to capture all the detail encline brought to the table here. I think part of what makes it look CG is that the detail is on so fine a level, it makes the thing seem larger than it actually is. If I shot this on a greenscreen and composited it into a city background (which I just might do), there's enough detail that I think you'd accept it as a full-size character. Having this beautiful of a subject is always helpful in capturing great images.
