I think I heard somewhere that if you took your Cinemask to the theater for a 3D showing, they'll give you a discount or something since you won't need 3D glasses.
Is this true?

 

At my local theaters I've tried bringing in my own pair (often from the last movie I watched) but I've never gotten any discount. Apparently the cashiers aren't able to change the price of a ticket at the box office. Good luck though.

RealD 3D isn't the same as the IMAX 3D. Cinemasks will only work at normal 3D screenings.

 

So I can take my Cinemask to the theater without the workers not complaining about it.

Lot of misinformation regarding 3D premium prices and glasses

The premium prices for 3D are NOT because of the glasses, they're for subsidizing and maintining 3D projection costs, which cost more than 2D projections, due to much faster burning bulbs

 

Whenever I go and see a 3-D film but I already have my glasses, they don't charge for the glasses (saving 80p) but they still charge an extra £3 because i'm seeing it in 3-D, so, it's not that much of a discount

 

Hah! In England Odeon charges extra for 3-D AND charges for the glasses. Thor ended up costing £13 a ticket. Crazy - the DVD will only be a tenner on release.

 

Go to Empire cinema instead. On their website it's £6.45 for 3D tickets! (Plus 80p handling fee, lame)
