He's the robot version of the demon Pazuzu.

 

What an interesting development.  

The figure looks impressive enough and it seems to be everything I thought it would be. I wasn't expecting much from this figure so I might buy this.

 

Holly Jesus that is hideous ... I was actually excited for him, but that $179 price tag for Jetwing Prime isn't looking so bad now.

Combined mode with the lack of so many paint apps is bla
Robot mode is skinny weird and very bla
Truck+trailer is decent

Given the price sounds like the Taraka voyager + trailer is the set to get?

 

Wouldn't be a bad buy for 20 bucks.

 

I'm digging this guy. The alt mode, while a little wide, looks nice, especially with the trailer.

The transformation seems to have some new, interesting things, and the trailer looks to be quite neat to fiddle with.

The robot mode, well, none of the angles on the base figure were that great, so I don't know how well proportioned he is, but from what I can tell it looks quite nice, certainly no worse than HftD Voyager Prime and his skinny legs. I can deal with the fat arms if they're the only real flaw the robot mode has.

The combined mode looks amazing. It's big, it's got a large wingspan, it's not overly chunky, and it seems to do a good job of retaining as much poseability as it can for the nature of the beast.

If I have the funds, I'll probably break down and buy him, rather than waiting for clearance. There's enough offered here that he's worth a look.


One final note: After RotF Leader Prime, I don't know why any cares about screen accuracy any more, we already have our perfect Movie Prime. I am insanely glad that Hasbro realized that it hit the ceiling on the standard Movie Prime design and now is starting to get creative and giving us NEW stuff, rather than the same old shit slightly different.

 

i wonder if the trailer fits on ROTF prime. you know, just for show.

 

Now that's a nice development.

Bleh-ed all the way since I saw the images much earlier. The transformation looks very challenging indeed. But still, the following kills it for me:

- flat feet. From all the busy-ness of his "overalls", they designers could've put a few hinges more on the feel to make it more complex.

- almost rectangular/rhombus shaped wings topped with trailer wheels on both tips. They're not sleek at all.

its still a no for me. (I can feel my wallet jumps with joy).

 

Thanks for the look. Although I think people are gonna get motion sickness from the parts where the camera isn't on the tripod.

As for the figure, it's a huge disappointment that he doesn't have any leg articulation. I will be very interested in any suggestions for customizing even if the trailer is slightly compromised.

American toy makers still seem to think that it's OK to make a figure that looks cool but can't do anything besides make lights and noises. SIGH I guess kids don't care, but Japan will always be better in this respect. They make toys that are actually poseable! I am considering Jetwing Prime more and more now...

 

The gun is pretty interesting and the added facemask for it is a bit odd. but I guess I'd have to personally see it for myself. Ahh I'm still on the fence about this figure..

 

No worse? The tiny waist and gorilla arms sort of kill it for me.

 

I'll wait for Takara to release a Buster Prime + Trailer. It may take a few months, but we all know it will eventually happen.

 

I really dig the combined mode and the vehicle mode. Prime in his regular bot mode seems lacking. As for the articulation in the legs i can live with that but when considering the hefty price tag i am not so sure on this at least not at full price.

I am glad I stuck with Takara's Voyager Prime w/trailer. This would be a really cool figure if this came out before the ROTF leader class Prime figure. I like the trailer but I cannot justify the base figure. Not to mention his truck mode looks like shit. This is where ROTF or better yet, Buster Prime reigns supreme because he looks great in both modes. I wonder if Hasbro felt they weren't going to make money re-releasing the same ROTF mold. Apparently they were wrong because I see more people looking to get the Jetwing Prime.

They toy actually didnt look half bad in person at Botcon. but all that begin said, i'm passing on this unless he's on clearance

 

I can see myself grabbing this guy up on sale or something. He doesn't look bad in alt mode, and the butterfly wings are majestic, so win-win.
