Decent flick actually. Had read a number of reviews and was very worried about it, but it fortunately surpassed all my worries. Yeah, it wasn't The Dark Knight, but it was a bloody sight better than Jonah Hex
Just got back from it. I agree with what most have said with things being a little bit too condensed. I thought Hammond would've suited well as a second film villian instead of him and parallax. I'm just happy to see a live-action GL movie...here's to a sequel!
Still not sure whether I'm going to see this or not. I really like the GL comics and was looking forward to it, but the bad reviews, many of them mentioning the same things, are making me wary about spending the time and money on a theatre viewing. I wasn't planning to see this one until next weekend anyway, so I'll have to watch the reviews and think about it over the next week, but this might be one for my DVD list.
I think the final scene made sense in a way. Spoiler After being shown up by a rookie, and a human to boot, he felt he needed more power and if this was something feared by the Guardians, it had to be powerful enough to beat a Green Lantern
since i've already seen the After Credits Scene on YouTube here's what i said on another board in a similar thread about it: Spoiler they probably just wanted to hint at/show that he thinks using the power of the Yellow Fear Spectrum/Yellow Power Ring after he feels how much power there is in it compared to the Green Willpower Spectrum/Green Power Ring would be better & more productive in instilling order & peace to the universe compared to how the guardians think using the Green Lantern Corps/Green Willpower Spectrum should be accomplishing the same thing yet from his perspective the Green Lantern Corps & Guardians are fighting an endless losing battle through out the universe without using what he thinks is the most powerful weapon they have in the Yellow Power Ring. also, a nod to the fans & he probably replaces the original with a fake during the time frame between GL & GL2 so know one knows the real Yellow Power Ring is missing.
I'm back! I thought the movie was decent. I liked Thor better but this was not bad at all. Now, If only Captain America would be in theaters already....
I thought it was pretty good. And I think the after credits scene was more of "this is where we're going in the future" kind of thing.
I'm glad someone else here understands the Daredevil situation. This actually makes me want to give Green Lantern a shot.
I was hoping for more of the other lanterns....Kilowog especially. I could've done without the cheesy one-liners he had though
I thought they did a great job with this movie all around. Easily already one of my top favorite comic book movies.
Meh. This movie was so average I don't know how to feel... the power ring battle were cool, but the script felt forced and contrived. It was like they put Ryan Reynolds on mute. Sinestro was cool and well done, but this movie felt so uneven overall... I have nothing really bad to say about it and nothing really good. 3d was wasted on this and definitely a cash grab, not a part of the movie experience. It should have included all the Earth Lanterns, or at least another two or three... Guy Gardner, Jon Stewart and Kyle Raynor should have been included. Spoiler It would have made more sense for the final battle... I would have even accepted an earth division... Parallax toasts a 10 man squad of Lanterns and has Sinestro running scared... Then Hal just "gets it" and is able to so easily dispose of the villian Parallax... Abin Sur was the best of the best and he could only contain him... but you beat him but getting him to fly into the sun? In short, I think this movie is a death knell for DC movies not called Batman or Superman. It wasnt bad, just thoroughly underwhelming.
That's cool... but immensely better than ROTF? By even saying that you invalidate your review of it. Story better? Yes. Comedy? Meh. Special effects? No. I like Transformers better for the subject matter, but honestly, they're about equal as movies... The 'romance scenes' were as akward as ROTF. ^This. This so much. Probably the best description of this movie. I can already tell this will be the worst comic book/super hero/cartoon movie of this year (unless you want to include that horrible looking Smurfs movie).
Just saw it last night in 3D. Was not worth the price. I've been following GL since the 80s, and though they could have cut out some of the one-liner crap, and give me a break, Parallax is not a Guardian that went bad, it is one of the emotional spectrum entities.
If Guy Gardner does show up eventually. He has to have the idiotic bowl haircut and be an absolute ass..
Most Definatly. Going to see it today after a quick trip to Toys R Us to get my power ring, haha, can't wait. BB28
