    :lol

Oregon Trail was already a brutal game, what with oxen drowning and people dying of cholera all over the place. A remake could be hilarious.

You know, I bet the Descent trilogy would do really well with the Revolution controller. Even with four analog axes and a hat switch, it was hard to take full advantage of the 3-D zero-G movement.

Make it GTA style so you can steal other people's wagons and food. Then pimp slap the kid dying from cholera for his yoke.

OMG. I want the Revolution even more now. They totally NEED to make Descent for the Revolution. And since the rev was brought up here, I would like to see a remake of Sam and Max on the Revolution. Full 3D, like the game that LucasArts canned. Use the Rev controller like the mouse, and for minigames. Also, a remake of Jedi Kinght (the first one) would be really cool with the Rev controller and updated graphichs. I miss me some Battleground Jedi.

I'd love to see a new TIE fighter as well... but not necessarily an update but a new one, with shades of Knights of the Old Republics Jedi/Sith system.

I'd love to see it start you off as an Imperial cadet, work your way up, then, depending on your performance so far (ie, have you been good? Have you been BAD?) you're either framed for a crime you didn't commit, or told to be spy, an event that forces you to be a Rebel. That way you get to play with all the ships!

Castlevania has already been remade several times.

    Vampire Killer
    Haunted Castle
    Akumojo Dracula X8600
    Castlevania Chronicle

Castlevania was actually the second remake of vampire killer.

Me I'd like to see the legend of zelda (the original) remade with an actual story and an expanded story showing how Ganon took power.

    Gradius 3
R-Type/R-Type 3 (remake with new Force units and power-ups)
    Darius Twin
Star Soldier (remake of a NES shoot-em-up)

Including Tyrian (shoot-em-up game for the PC)... and Contra 3.

Guardian Legend: I liked this game. Half Zelda, Half plane shooter
Chrono Trigger: all it needs is upgraded graphics
Mike Tyson's Punch Out and Super Punch Out: Just combine the characters and put better graphics

Not like that, not just graphically, take the original story and basic look and revamp it. Castlevania Chronicles was the MSX Computer version they redid not the NES version.

Although this is pure heresy, I'd like to see Super Metroid done up in Metroid Prime fashion. (It doesn't need much improving--although I'd like the ledge-grabbing from the GBA games in it, I miss that every time I play it now.) It's already a near-perfect game, and I don't think it could be done better. But it could be done differently enough to be cool in its own way.

Plus, I'll admit it--Metroid Prime had a cool Ridley fight, but I want to fight gigantic Kraid, or plummet through that big-ass lava room in Norfair before Ridley's lair, in 3D. Just to do it.

Or--Castlevania 3, done in the style of Dawn of Sorrow, with the original included as a bonus. With the second quest done level-by-level style, to make the purists happy, and to be different from other portable CVs.

Or--just a port, any kind at all, of Rondo of Blood. (Yes, it doesn't belong. But I'm not willing to pay $150 plus to play it.)

Or--Panzer Dragoon Saga. Yes, it was already quite perfect on its own, but on a system with a decent draw distance, and with more polys, this could not only be a great game with unique gameplay, but also drop dead gorgeous. Saturn 3D is almost as hard on the eyes to me now as Pong, sadly.

I would just about kill for even just a straight port of Tyrian. A straight port isn't ever going to happen though, 'cause it was written in Turbo Pascal.

Turrican (the proper home computer awesomeness, not the console travesties)

If the console versions were all travesties, I don't think you could make a modern version of Turrican without it becoming yet another one. Plus, you know the original author of Turrican made one of those console travesties, right?

You could. Just get the big explorable levels in there, keep the difficulty up and make sure all the firepower essentials are available. It was the reduction (or sometimes lack) of those which knackered the SNES and MD games as far as I am concerned.

NES. I'll admit that was a decent effort, but I have trouble rating it considering how late in the day it was.

I'd like to see Commander Keen as a 3-D platformer.

I'd also pay a lot of money to have a 2.5-D version of Jazz Jackrabbit, just so long as it was fast and brought back the heavy firepower from the first game (Jazz 2 limited the ammo too much). If it could be pulled off as well as Sonic Adventure was, I could dig a full 3-D version too.
