I have to agree with this. Dick move.

I like the look of the toy, but I would never buy it - too expensive for me, and not too familiar with the character anyway.

But let people like what they like. Even if Hasbro comes out with an official Springer (one that is not a repaint like the ones come before) it's probable it will still not be as cool as the FP one. So laugh all you want, half of the people who bought Defender will probably still like that one better than the official one, which means they made a good deal.

Hah, you are totally right. All those people who bought g1 optimus prime in '84 are fools, when hasbro eventually made a classics version. Those suckers. People buy what they like. What about that makes them fools?

I never said they were fools. Didnt even mean to imply it.

(sigh)...I really should be much more carefull when attempting to start a conversation with my fellow Transfans...

Starting a conversation is not the same as "I'm going to laugh at you"

A better way to put it would have been "How will you feel if Hasbro releases Springer?"
That would have got you some good conversation to pass your obviously late night.

And No, I don't hurt myself on the plastic anymore. Through a ton of burns and cuts, I have learned to keep my body away from flying molten plastic as much as possible.
The injuries are totally worth it for my custom combiners though :D

Yeah I could never bring myself to pay for 1 Predaking CD piece (The wings and/or head if im not mistaken) what I would for a loose/complete vintage g1 figure. But, whatever floats your boat. I like to not have to put my stuff together like an erector set, but let the toys goodness stand in its own right. I mean, if they werent cool by themselves they wouldnt still be collected...right?

I view the FP whole robots as nothing more than KOs, same principles apply. That said, I wouldn't sit here and mock someone because there may eventually be a HasTak version of the character. This is the kind of shit that makes me embarrassed to lump myself in the same fandom as you. It'd be no different than a "Dumbtards bought KO Thundercracker" thread. Thank God we haven't gotten one of those either.

GOOD GOD MAN. lol breathe for a second. I apologized for anything that may have come off as insulting like 2 or 3 times now. This is a toy discussion dude. I honestly was just trying to start a discussion. That was my intention. I really cannot believe someone would say something like this. Ouch. That really hurt man...considering Ive been, and shall remain, a fan my whole life.

Ihsan, I totally get that you're "just trying to start a discussion" here in the toy forum, but I think there are a few better ways to initiate a discussion about Warbot Defendor as compared and contrasted with Hasbro's past and hypothetical future ventures than your first post did. I mean, I'm not personally offended, but I can see how some would easily be by the tenor of the subject line + op.

Back on topic, like I said, Warbot Defender is a great stand alone figure. That's not to say that either figure Hasbro has already made isn't good, nor does that have any correlation with what Hasbro/TakaraTOMY could make; both the Cyb Def. Hot Shot and Cyb Evac molds are really good molds as well. I can certainly see Hasbro making a figure that people would go absolutely nuts over. While it's pretty obvious that WB Defender is intended to fill the Classics gap for Springer, the comparison falls short pretty quickly with it and other figures that are similar.

Well considering that most of the g1 combiners had left over parts, I don't mind the extra. I generally only display my combiners in the full combined mode anyway.

I want to say total for my re-issue predaking and all the CD parts to date I have spent about $350-$380 with the hands. They are trying to emulate a great picture of the King fighting Defensor and Superion. All giant wings and cannons.

Devastator is a really sweet piece. crazydevy blew that one out of the park big time. If Predkings gets a waist/thigh combo and maybe some forearms...it will be the best combiner to date...with the possible exception of FP's Bruticus.

CD is actually one of my favorite companies. They can be a tad pricey, but thier products are top notch. I would not add them to a vintage Predaking though. Tight plastics do not go well on 20 year old toys.

This thread starts pretty confrontational, no?

I would love a Takbro Springer, I would buy it. If it was miles better than Warbot Defender I may even consider selling Defender, but I like him as his own figure anyway and would happily start a FP shelf to separate him.

As long as Springer is better than their last attempt at a triple changer anyway, with Octane / Tankor.

OMG...thats higher than I thought. Jesus. Well no CD parts for me, as It would makem around $150 right?

Personally , I have a general rule that I go by that I refuse to break. If ANY toy, no matter how bad I want it, costs over $100...I wont buy it. Has little to do with my actual income and more with the fact IMO no toy is worth more than $100. But as I said, thats all me.

Ya all the parts together were about $150.

    Predaking itself was $200.

I'm expecting another $100 or so. But again. I think it is going to be the best combiner out there. Mixing old time G1 looks with modern day engineering. SEXY.

My hobby pays for itself, so I don't mind buying expensive stuff.

Whenever I need money, just accept a commision for a custom and buy what I want. :D

Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about here.

None of those figures are Triple-changers and Springer is, and the Springer figures we have gotten from Hasbro were also not triple-changers.

Oh, I get it now you are just trolling and trying to bait people into arguing with you. So are you trying to break the rules?

Even if Hasbro release one I doubt it'll be close to the awesomeness of Warbot as their last attempts at Triple Changers were completely shit.

    FansProject win.
