I kinda wish there was a switch-a-roo with the two Mercedes cars at the last minute, and Soundwave turns out to be the E550 and Wheeljack as the SLS. Atleast then both characters will have a bit closer look to their G1 selves in terms of coloring. (I know Wheeljack was white in the G1 cartoon, but silver is closer to that then blue)
Maybe if a moped was so giant and powerful that it contained a full-sized full-featured F-15 in its dashboard. Tape player -> Mercedes isn't exactly a downgrade.

Other than the head design, I agree. After seeing him as a Satellite I thought his alt mode should have been on the larger scale along the lines of Ironhide. A more hulking, menacing robot mode would have suited his character well. It would've been perfect for the Ironhide vs. Soundwave battle I was hoping for in the Dark of the Moon finale. If anyone was going to take out Soundwave, it'd be Ironhide, Sentinel or Optimus. Spoiler Granted, I have read the novel and comic and doubt one of these three would have the need to fight him And if you are looking for a sinister robot mode you will not be disappointed
We've known about these for a while now (Walmart listings), so really the only new info here is confirmation of Takara releasing them, and HA Soundwave coming with a Laserbeak figure. Should be interesting to see how his design translates into toy form, and how Laserbeak turns out as an accessory to HA Soundwave.
why give soundwave a differemt vehicle mode than the one in the movie (a rumored vehicle mode that fits in with the film aswell)
Soundwave = Mercedes E550 Wheeljack = Mercedes SLS Mirage(Dino) = Ferrari (Hopefully Enzo) I will get them all.
Some of us were skeptical due to the obvious and significant size difference between Soundwave in ROTF and the Mercedes SLS.
So he's confirmed to be a Merc then, good. Also, anyone else notice that the listing calls him Q? Curious.
I know there are people complaining about the silver and all, but I actually like it. Although, I DO agree with the lack of blue they are bringing up. I think if they had added a TINY bit more blue bits here and there, it would look better IMO. I still like the silver colors, though. Also, before anyone gets TOO excited about the deluxe figure of Soundwave, just remember something. Sideswipe is a D.U.L.L. grey now, because a lot of these figures lack good paint. I'm just saying, before everyone gets too excited. HA seems very promising, though.
My theory is that Soundwave is only part of the satellite, or that his Cybertronian mode is mostly hollow (which wouldn't surprise me, seeing as how he was able to store ravage in there)
What do you expect? An ugly, poorly done satilite? And don't mock Animated Scion Soundwave! Well, I can't wait to see the toy when it's revealed.
