Not happy with it. Skorpy got a send off in ROTF but not for Barricade.

I think Sideways was meant to be Barry in ROTF but they never got around to explaining it so he was just called Sideways officially.

 

It bothers me. If for no other reasons than the fact that he was the only Decepticon whose personality had kind of a cool connection to his altmode.

 

It doesn't really bother me so much, however I would like some kind of resolution on wether he is dead or alive.

It does bother me tremendously. When I had heard that they made the decision to keep him alive for the sequel that became known as ROTF, that they would touch-base as to what happened to him at the end of the 07 Movie, I was really looking forward to it... only to become disappointed that he didn't appear in ROTF and then no word whatsoever if he's going to appear in DOTM or not.

I really do want at least some sort of an official explanation, from Bay and the writers, as to what really happened to Barricade. I have a hard time accepting the comics as canon, because they contradicted a lot of things that happened in the films, so I'd like there to be an official explanation as to why Barricade never appeared in ROTF and such.

I never believed that speculation. Just because they had some similarities in their design, it does not mean that Barricade had reformatted into an Audi R8 (which I don't know why he would when he has a police cruiser mode that will allow him to get anywhere without arousing suspicions). So to me, Sideways and Barricade are two completely separate characters.

I mean, Barricade came off as a tough bad cop who relentlessly went after Sam and Bumblebee in the 07 Movie, where Sideways was some coward who didn't so much put up a fight against the Bike Sisters and Sideswipe.

 

toy wise I think it was meant to be barricade2...but he wouldnt have run like a chicken sh!t in shanghai...

While he was researching EBAY for the glasses in movie 1, he ran across a porn pop up on his screen.He was so intrigued by the art of porn, he simply just gave up on the whole war and became a webmaster for the Bang Bros. website.

 

It did alot at first, but I don't care that much anymore. I still want some closure for him though

 

Epic   but honestly Barricade was great maybe he's just behind the scenes now

Does it bother me that Barricade disappeared unexplained in T1? Yeah.
Does it bother me that Barricade isn't mentioned anywhere at all in T2? Kinda.
Does it bother me that Barricade won't be appearing out-of-nowhere in T3? Not really.

Bringing Barricade back now for T3 would be for uber-fans only, not the Average Joe Moviegoer.
The moment (and mistake) of "Where is Barricade?" has passed.

 

Honestly, it would bother me more if he returned now without any story devoted to him whatsoever.

 

The thing I think is funny is that thee is a SUV police Dread in the Cyberverse line that looks like the DC SUV that BB hit while filming and the Cyberverse Barricade toy has the same white police paint job as the white SUV police Dread from the cyberverse line. It would be cool if that was a hint that we could maybe see him cameo in the DC attack scene as a white DC police mustang. And remember, (if) that were to happen, they could totally do a full CGI of him. They would not need a real car on set for that. IN no way am I saying it will happen but it could.

It would only annoy me if they actually bothered to give any of the Decepticons any kind of personality at all.

They are all disposable, interchangable plot devices.

 

That's probably because it's true. If you're not Optimus, Bumblebee, or the twins; you're not a main character in Bayformers, and thus forced to spend the movie mostly in the background, with little to do.

I have no idea what people's obsession with him is. So he disappeared. Is it really that hard to believe Optimus killed him off-screen? Afterall both he and Bonecrusher were chasing teh Autobots, and Prime looked really concerned after dealing with Bonecrusher.

 

I don`t think any reasonable person (I know! I know! This is the internet!) is annoyed! But its just a shame to write out and waste such a good character.

I would have loved for there to have been an ongoing fewd in each movie between BB and Barricade, with it finally being settled in the last movie! But I think the list of "I would have loved it if`s", must be infinite!

 

Seeing as though Prime and Bonecrusher had to stop on the freeway for their duel for a time, I would think that Barricade would have been free to chase Ratchet, Ironhide and Bee. I can't see Prime catching up with Barricade, no way.

It would make more sense that Ratchet and Ironhide beat the crap out of him together while Bee escaped with Sam.
