    Two words... bad teeth...

It didn't help that they did goofy things later like digitally color their eyes or have them turn into Transformer faces which were animated like a MAD Magazine folding image page...

Personally, their picture-perfect hair (ie. frozen in place for all time) and eighties clothes freak me out more. Wonder where these kids are today? Maybe on here reading about how much they freaked us out and crying inside.....

"Now in theatres: Transformers the Movie, does Prime die..." WTF!!!?? Who does that? Promos should be like "See the epic battle between the Evil Decepticons and the Heroic Autobots, as they try and fight off a new menace "Unicron". That not only says what the movie is but gives an air of mystery to what Unicron and the battle is. This is like...see the movie and does Prime die. Who's main hit point is that the best character dies?Worst. Promo. Ever!

Dude, forget about logic and public relations and pretty boy marketing scams and just put yourself into the mindset of an 8 year old. When I was that age, I could have given a shit less about Unicron or any of the others, but losing Prime was right up there with losing the family dog.

I remember both as well as yesterday. Luckily I was able to save both to disk for later viewing. :D  Oh, and when TF the Movie started in my old Brooklyn neighborhood, the theatre was packed for the first few days. I guess Prime's death spread fast by word of mouth sounding the first death knell of G1. :(

HERE'S THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR STAN BUSH - THE TOUCH!!!

    http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/541/

God I love that sequence where Prime runs over the Decepticons in truck form, transforms while jumping up out of the truck form into robot mode, flipping about and taking out three more. Love it!
