Encore Metroplex was $80.+ right? Encore Fortress Maximus would be an easy $300.++ and be sold out of pre-orders the first week or two!!
    Hell, Ragimus MP is $200.+!

........ and I thought Fortress Maximus was $70. originally? Was it really $90.?
Anyone remember exactly what the retail cost was on Fort Max?

Probably given the variances in retail pricing you would have seen anything between 70-100...my foggy ass childhoood memory of staring up at the box in Caldor, trying to figure out how Grommet worked (and thinking the whole affair was actuallly kind of dumb :lol ) was that it was 90, but that was a lot of years ago...

Didn't the 'buy on clearance' method leave us a US MP Seeker short?!

Looks to be the MP01 Matrix, the RP one was pretty small.

I'd say yes. I love clearance prices as much as anyone, that's where I go for my "extras" but let's support the MSRP price-points people!

Not only are we short a seeker, but moreover Wal*Mart decided they didn't want any more stinking masterpieces, and Toys*R*Us, who do smaller number than Wal*mart, period, have shown (with Grimlock) that their distribution is a challenge for a lot of fans.

Cheap-skates trying to game the system broke the pricepoint and made it a lot harder on Hasbro and on us to get the products we want from them and into our hands. :/

*Side note, this is yet ANOTHER good reason for Hasbro to set up a subscription-based collectors club for the adult-oriented high-end stuff. MayyCollector is obviously a nightmare in all kinds of ways, but it IS getting product into fan-hands that would NEVER fly at retail..*

So what's the estimated release on this? I think Hasbro MP Grimlock was sold at SDCC last year in late July and then started hitting stores in late Aug of last year. Same timeline?

I don't get how 3rd party companies can make a profit catering to fans. How Botcon can make a profit catering to fans and how TFCC can make a profit catering to fans YET Hasbro can't.

I call Bullshit on Hasbro's part. Hasbro is happy enough with sales on a consumer level alone. They CAN give the fans a low run, high price, high end figure, they just choose not to. And this is why 3rd party groups are flourishing.

I will add that Hasbro gives us a hell of a lot and I totally love Classics and the upcoming Prime toys. I just think they can go that extra step and give us a collector's line.

-MP Rodimus for at least half the price of the Takara version that's missing a huge lump of plastic that I don't want/like to begin with? CHECK!

-A transforming Matrix the Rodimus can hold and a Targetmaster figure thrown in for good measure? CHECK!

-The possibility that the figure has improved QC and the issues of the Takara release fixed? CHECK!

Seems like a good thing that I waited for this release. I just hope he shows up in Europe somewhere.

Yes, this is what puzzles me as well. I totally get that the main toy lines are just that: toys. And that we adult collectors can consider ourselves lucky that Hasbro goes the extra mile to incorporate elements into their products that cater to our interests.

But why they don't just put out a seperate collector's line with a limited run is what I don't get. Especially when there's no extra cost involved in designing those figures since all that work hast already been done for the japanese toys.

I just realized there probably will be a KO trailer for this thing eventually...which will be so damn expensive you might as well had bought the Takara version. :D

What are you refering to? I was talking about new higher end moulds alla MP but maybe smaller. Think along the lines of the PP line. Higher end, re engineered G1 figures that match the show models as much as possible. I'm not saying go this way but just something new, something beyond being just a toy and something made for the fan community.

Repaints with new crappy heads as club/show exclusives is not a collectors line. I want something with more prestiege, liek what adding 3rd party items does for a collections.
