Yeah...Wheeljacks death is quite dramatic. Specially for an einstein / old bot. Might cry when that happens in the theater.

 

Uhh I remember reading it differently from the book I have right in front of me.

Whole ending between Optimus Megatron and Sentinel right here. Read at own risk.

Carly asking if it was really worth it now that Sentinel is the one leading MEGATRON'S army to victory. After all this it would be Sentinel's victory instead of Megatron's.
Megatron listens to Carly and slams his fist down on the bus' hood making it toss her. She isn't hurt and sees him leave the alley way to go help optimus.
As Sentinel is about to blow up Optimus' head Megatron wrenches his arm away from Optimus.
"Megatron?!" Sentinel exclaims shocked at Megatron's attack.
"Lord Megatron!" Megatron yells as he punches Sentinel in the face, then taking his shotgun blaster and shooting Sentinel off his feet and crashing into the street.
"Three will rise, 1 shall fall" Megatron exclaims before turning towards optimus and reaching a hand to him. Not a blaster or a weopon. A hand.
He pulls optimus to his feet and stand side by side to confront sentinel. Then they both charge Sentinel.
However Megatron and optimus together cannot defeat Sentinel. Who beats them both around still.
Sentinel slams into optimus and the speed of it carries both through a wall pulverizing it.
Optimus tosses Sentinel aside but he lands on his feet. Megatron slides in like a baseball player sliding into home base, sweeping out Sentinel's feet and sending him to the ground. Optimus jumps out over him and lands next to the acid rust cannon. He picks it up and shoots Sentinel in the chest as he prepares to continue the fight.
Sentinel stumbles clutching the now expanding hole in his chest, bewildered at what just happened.
Then he sags to his knees, still dissolving, "All I ever wanted," he gasps out, "was the survival of our race. You must see....why I had to betray you"
He reaches up with a trembling hand which optimus ignores.
"you did not betray me, you betrayed yourself" Optimus says before Sentinel finally falls to the ground mostly dissolved.
Optimus feels as if he has just slain a part of himself.
Then the humans blow up the control pillar, ending the space bridge before Cybertron could emerge.
Megatron lets out a long high cry of protest as the space bridge begins to close. Optimus and Megatron both witness as their home world fades back to its galaxy.
Megatron turns to Optimus and says "You must have felt it. The draw of our world. It called to you just as forcefully as it calls for me. The difference between us is that I was willing to answer that call."
"No," Optimus says. "It was never about Cybertron, anymore then it was about Earth. It was always about you. Whatever nobility you may have had once or think you've had was long consumed by your overwhelming need to dominate all that you see."
"Such pompousness from you, Prime. Your Sanctimoniousness would be more impressive if we did not both know that the two of us are very much alike."
"We are nothing alike." Optimus counters.
"I wanted Control to Cybertron because I thought I was right. You fight me because you believe you are right." He answers.
"I" Optimus tells him, preparing for battle," am tired of your control."
"And I...." Megatron hesitates.
And he sags to the ground "I..... am tired of fighting"
Optimus doesn't know how to react.
"I sue for peace, Optimus." he says finally." I will order all decepticons to stand down. It is over. All this -he gestures around them- "is over. Even endless war must end sometime. Our world calls, and I will devote my existence- and the existence of all decepticons- not to attacking you or humans but to returning to our home world. I have spent far too long destroying and it has brought me nothing. Nothing. So I wish to try creating for a time and see if that brings me....something."
"And I am supposed to believe your word? I am supposed to accept this call for a truce After all the lies and deceits? After all the attempts to lay waste to an entire world?"
He stares at optimus for a time and then says, "Honestly, Prime, it does not matter to me what you believe. You still hold the weopon of Sentinel Prime. Use it. Annihilate me. I no longer care what you do, All I ask is whatever decision you make, make it quickly."
Optimus looks at the blaster in his hand. How easy it would be to kill him. To put an end to it once and for all. He glances to the sky at the now clear blue cybertron-less sky. But as loath Optimus is to admit it, Megatron is right. It calls to him. It calls with the song of what it once was, and what it could be again if the transformers, as a race, were capable of living up to the potential they once had.
"You are wrong. I am nothing like you" Optimus says at last,"because if I were you, I would have destroyed you for showing what any decepticon would define as weakness. Your own people may well teear you apart for this change in your attitude. For your sake as well as theirs, control them"
"I will." Megatron replies.
Slowly he rises, trying to show some level of dignity and then he says "When I do return to Cybertron and when I do make things right. I will send for you and yours. And we will join and be one race again. A race of peace. We will once again have a home."
Optimus says nothing as he walks away.
He wants to believe it will be peace.
Optimus wants to truly believe Megatron can truly transform his demeanor.
And I will hold out hope.... because in the end, that is all we have.

 

Let him read yours. I'm just remembering what I gathered from the spoiler threads. The books you guys have aren't in my area and my order from Amazon hasn't arrived yet.

Odd. Its been out in Connecticut since the 23rd at the borders in Meriden :/ Did you try asking around at local stores that sell books?

 

they should be able to, its a matter of whether the movie makes it believable.

the usual hallmarks of good guys are teamwork and perseverance that allows them to come out on top.

some of the scenes i'm hearing about make me a bit cautious like the dreads showing up and dying so quickly, not to mention shockwave. don't want the bad guys to seem like paper.

haven't seen the film yet so i don't know how well it will be portrayed.

 

That's a very good ending scene. I like it. Brings closure to the trilogy. Can not wait to see this.

 

I know it won't happen. But a fourth film would be sweet to introduce unicron and have him attack a unified cybertron, only to divide the bots once again.

 

Actually, I'm pretty sure I heard a fourth film is going to be made, only not by Michael Bay. But I haven't got a source, so I can't prove anything.

does die in the novel, but not the comic book, just thought I'd point this out. Gives us some hope.

 

that sucks!! why do the new 'bots always gotta get killed ??? Wheeljack gets killed in water and mirage gets his head riped off by soundwave!! I thought old wheeljack was gonna make it but i guess i was wrong!

Sentinel is a auto bot he is not a decepticon and will not turn against the autobots quit spreading lies.

 

you can't believe everything you hear the movie will tell us what actually happens.

 

Yes. He is present in the slide right before my new favorite gets his head ripped off.  

 

Is there anything stated in the novel as to why Sentinel Prime is so hard to beat, for Optimus AND Megatron to have to band together to have a prayer against him? I can kinda understand Megs having problems because of his weakened state, but Optimus was supposedly perfectly healthy, yes? So I'm asking because I smell remnants of Part 1, where Optimus ends up looking inferior in the climaxing battle -- something that shouldn't happen -- to someone he should be looking equal to at the very least.
